“There is a lot to go over, but I should start with the basics.” Crystal continued to hug him tight. “Most vampires live among humans right under their noses. Most see humans as nothing more than prey. They need to feed off humans as you know but they cannot turn another into them without them actually injecting some of their blood inside of humans to turn them.” She started to explain.
“So, we are nothing more than food?”
“Yes. But some do treat humans with respect. At least in the sense of they need them to live. Some I heard found a human lover. Which becomes their wife, or husband if the vampire is female or a gay male.”
“Really? Same sex lovers are in your race?” Josh asked.
“You mean EX-race but yes.” She hummed. “But, getting back on topic. About 20% respect humans as I said. But even those that respect them roughly 90% do not care for humans and just view them as nothing more than food. And the other 10% that do not respect humans just hate them and don’t consider humans and Vampires on the same level.”
Josh gulped. “But I thought they respect us?”
“Not entirely, they might respect humans like you Master. They still see you as food. It’s a very complex thing. Most just feed and leave humans for dead.” She hummed.
“Then... it’s a good thing I have you as my girlfriend.” Josh said as he reached back to rub her thorax.
“Indeed.” Crystal rubbed her head against his. “Now that is the basics.” She hummed softly.
“Is there anything like Vampire Hunters?” Josh worriedly asked.
She sighed and nodded. “Yes. But that is another topic.”
Josh was humming as he listened to her response.
