Hephaetus listened with both eagerness and dread
as Slar explained that three years earlier
whilst on a mission
his Employers men had dropped him off in a desolate region of canyons, dunes
tall forbidding forests and swamps about 50 miles up the
Sky Lar River
over a paydispute.
For two weeks he had blundered about, living off
the land and had found the shotgun
wrapped tightly in a greased bedroll
deep in a cave in the center of that
forbidden gloomy forest,
The shotgun and its old fashioned shells had
allowed him to survive
for another two weeks
and Slar had made his way to the Sky Lar River
where he'd fired off the antique shotgun to attract
the attention of one of the last
river boat unicorn and dwarf traders heading through
that late time of season.
Clearly Slar had come closer to the Lost
33rd Aeril Dragon Corp and the Material
they'd been tasked with
Hephaetus laid out a sheet map of the Sky Lar River
and hoped against hope that Slar wouldn't
be able to indicate where he'd spent a month in the Sky Lar wilderness
but after careful examination of the map
Slar
narrowed it down to 2 possible forests a mile apart.
Somewhere there was Thundersteins Lost
Aerial Corp and the Material
The disappointed blacksmith kept a straight face
till he left his guests
then sighed
before he notified Prince Wolthar
that
they were going to need his help to mount a Expedition
to destroy all traces of the Lost Aerial Corp
and the Material that surely would be nearby their resting place
After a century a secret best left buried had come back to haunt the Sky Kingdom
