The Still barefoot Captain Al Bertram got into his rowboat, and lowered himself down to see Johnny and Ryan for himself.
When Johnny revealed his fish tail, Captain Al Bertram was surprised. "Well shrink me booties!" He exclaimed, "ye be a mermaid!"
"Merman." Johnny said bluntly. "There's a difference."
"And I guess her son be a merboy?"
"Yes, yes I am." Ryan said, showing off his merboy tail.
"Well shrink me booties and me clothes!" Captain Al Bertram said. 'Me never thought it be possible to see merfolk in such an amazingly long time!"
He sighed, wriggling his ten toes.
"Ye know, it makes me wish that I could become a merperson too, like ye. It's always been a dream of mine, since i was a lad."
"Well, why don't you make it come true today?" Johnny asked. "Really?!" Captain Al Bertram said excitedly. "Come on in, the water's fine!" Ryan said.
Captain Al Bertram didn't need to be told twice. He leapt outta his boat, and plunged into the sea with his clothes on.
The 3 good friends laughed.
