Anthony got home that night and without a word to his parent's headed upstairs. He was exhausted. That had been a hard practice. He ignored the calls of his parents for dinner.
"Anthony???" His mom pushed the door open to see him laying on the bed. She blinked. His ears looked odd, half an inch longer, and dusted with gray hair. "Something wrong with my big strong quarterback?" She asked. It was probably just a new thing the boys tried out. A prop.
Anthony smirked. His parents fed his ego. They knew he was the best in the state, and destined for a career in the NFL one day. "No ma, I'm fine. Just not hungry." In truth he didn't want to spoil his dinner. His REAL dinner.
"Ok dear...well if you change your mind, there's steak in the fridge." She left.
Steak. The thought of it made his stomach curl. Why would anyone eat meat! He licked his teeth, the canine's were flatter than he remembered. His lips felt heavier. Thicker. He licked them, finding them a bit swollen.
The sound of his parent's closing the bedroom door echoed through the house. Anthony lay on the bed, his stomach growling at him. Somehow he was able to fall asleep.

Anthony kicked at his stall door with a foreleg. Where was his food! The farmer was supposed to feed him three times a day! He'd missed one. His tail slapped back and forth in agitation and he let out a "HEEEE-HAWWW!"
"Alright alright you dumb beast!" Came the sound of the farmer's voice. A man in overalls poured oats into Anthony's bucket, and the animal gorged himself.

Anthony was awoken by his roaring stomach. He needed food. Real food. He snuck out of his bedroom and down the stairs. 2:00 am blinked on the clock. "Good no one will be awake..." He pushed out into the fenced in back yard and got to his hands and knees. His stomach gurgled in anticipation as he looked at the fresh cut grass. He licked his lips, and lowered his face to the ground. He found his teeth surprisingly good at crushing the grass up into a nice paste. It tasted wonderful, and no one was awake to tell him to stop.
