Greg knelt, removed the dust bag from the chamber in the front of the vacuum cleaner, carried it through the house and out the back door, and crossed to the large plastic garbage bin where his family deposited any non-recyclable items destined for the municipal landfill.
As he carried out this routine part of the chore, he dialed his father's phone one more time. "Still no answer," he muttered after hearing his call go directly to Dan's voicemail.
He slid his phone back into his pants and then flipped open the lid on the massive plastic garbage receptacle. Then, in violent fashion, he unzipped the dust bag and gave it a few whacks against the plastic sides of the garbage can, sending a flurry of dust, debris, and one tiny man falling into the depths.
The fact Dan remained unconscious for the entire disposal meant he would wake later, lost and alone, in a vast plastic pit...
