Xenophon snorted as shi bucked against Daffodil. Shi had been feeling friskier than usual lately and shi had a pretty good idea why that was. Horses, like humans, didn't have one set time of year when it came to breeding. But there are monthly periods where the opportunity is at its maximum. Which was why shi was pumping into Daffodil with such abandon. Xenophon had felt a very close bond with Daffodil, not just because shi was the one who helped convert hir. Xenophon felt like shi should have been born a man the same way that Daffodil felt like shi should have been born a woman. Xenophon instinctively felt the need to protect Daffodil. Now what shi really wanted was to be a father to Daffodil's foal.
Daffodil moaned as shi was getting penetrated deeper. "Are you ready yet?" shi moaned as shi stroked hir own cock and hir breast.
"Not just yet," grunted Xenophon as shi thrust harder, "I want you at your peak. I want you to take all my seed. I want you to be filled up so you can make my foal."

The two herm horses snorted as they laid down on the bed. "You think it took this time?" asked Daffodil.
"We can always try again," said Xenophon.
"Xenophon, as much as I'd like to have a foal, you could be trying to get pregnant too," said Daffodil, rubbing hir lover's stomach.
"I'd like that too. But I want to be in the next Animalian Games," said Xenophon, "And it'll be easier to compete when I'm not pregnant. Besides, those hyenas are only trying to get one of them pregnant right now."
"You think they've succeeded yet?" asked Daffodil.
Xenophon shrugged hir shoulders and said, "Don't know."
Daffodil yawned and said, "Well, I'd like to get some sleep now. We can give it another try in the morning if the test comes out negative."
Xenophon kissed the top of Daffodil's head and said, "You can go ahead and rest. I'll see you in the morning."

Pregnancy tests should work as well for hermaphrodites as it does for regular women, though it was a bit hard to be certain since they were among the first of their kind. However, in the morning, the pregnancy test that Daffodil took turned out positive. They'd have to go to the doctor to make sure, but they were both excited by the fact that they were going to have a baby.
Naturally, the first people they were going to tell was the other herm horse pair. Goldenrod and Hiroshi (or Hirshi as shi liked to be called) were also living together, though not exactly partners. Their relationship was more open, something that Xenophon and Daffodil were also in on. It happened frequently enough that some people got a bit confused about who was paired with who.
Of course, the other horse herms were glad about it. "Oh, Daffodil, you're going to make such a wonderful mother," said Goldenrod with delight.
"I wonder if it'll be a colt, a filly, or both," said Hirshi.
"I think those Anacondas gave birth to a few single-sexed kids," said Daffodil.
"Doesn't matter which," said Xenophon, "I'm just glad enough to be a father."
"Well, we should have a little something to celebrate with," said Goldenrod as shi got up. Shi staggered a bit as shi stood and clutched at hir head.
"You ok?" asked Daffodil with concern.
"Just a little dizzy spell," said Goldenrod, "I've been having them lately."
"Shi's also been feeling a little nauseated," said Hirshi.
"And yet I keep wanting to eat more," said Goldenrod, "I'm eating so much I'm starting to feel bloated."
Xenophon and Daffodil exchanged a look and and Xenophon said, "Uh, you do know what that sounds like, right?"
"What do you mean?" asked Goldenrod.
"That you might have a condition," suggested Daffodil, patting hir stomach.
Goldenrod's eyes widened and shi said, "But I couldn't be...could I?"
One test in the bathroom soon confirmed it. "I'm pregnant," said Goldenrod, looking at the pregnancy test.
"Huh, and here I thought I was going to be the first," said Daffodil.
"How could you have not noticed?" asked Xenophon, "The symptoms should have been obvious."
"I was a gelding before I was uplifted," said Goldenrod, "Other horses' pregnancies weren't a concern for me." Shi turned to Hirshi with a warm smile and said, "I guess you'll get to be a father too."
"Not to pass the buck, but am I the father?" asked Hirshi, "I mean, I wouldn't mind if I were, but we've all been active with each other." There was truth. Their get-togethers had a way of turning into foursomes. Any of the other three could be the father, even Daffodil.
"Does it really matter?" asked Goldenrod, "I'm going to have a foal in any case. I don't think we've got quite as open a relationship as the Anacondas, but we're all close enough." Shi turned back to Hirshi and said, "Even if it's not yours, would you mind be a father to it and a partner with me?"
"You really want to move up to that step?" asked Hirshi.
"I think we're close enough and I don't think the other horses will be wanting either of our hands," said Goldenrod.
"Well, what can I say but yes," said Hirshi, "Though I'm not sure about being the man of the house."
"I don't think any of us are set at 'man of the house'," said Goldenrod, "Except Xenophon."
"I might want to be a mom later," said Xenophon, "Maybe not for another year though."
After that, they got the marriage licenses for the two pairs to be legal spouses. Neither pair were into big weddings, especially since they would be a bit hard when it was a bit unclear which was the bride and which was the groom. But it looked like Daffodil and Goldenrod were going through their pregnancies together, even if Goldenrod might have a head start.
