As soon as Tom Herald arrived back at Alice Stevens' house, he parked the car in the driveway and got out of the car. He walked up to the front door and unlocked it with the key that Alice had given him when they moved in together. Stepping inside, he closed the door behind him and began to make his way towards the master bedroom. When he reached the bedroom, he found Alice folding clothes and neatly putting them in her suitcase, which she had on the bed. Tom cleared his throat to get her attention, which made her look up at Tom.
"Oh good, you're here," she said. "I was worried after what you said on the phone a few minutes ago."
Tom walked into the bedroom and made his way towards the open closet. "Don't worry, I'm fine," he said, reassuring his future wife as he grabbed his suitcase out of the closet and put it on the bed. He unzipped it and began to make his way to the dresser, opening the drawers and grabbing various articles of clothing that he'd need for the week.
"I can't believe that something like that actually happened," Alice said. "I expected people in Moon Lake to be shocked, scared, and maybe a bit angry, but I never thought that someone would actually threaten you."
"I felt like it might happen," Tom said, putting his clothes in his suitcase. "I just didn't expect it to be this soon." He moved away to get the toiletries he'd need from the master bathroom. "But the only thing that really matters is your safety. I don't want anything to happen to my fiancé."
As Tom came out of the bathroom, he was caught off guard by Alice's embrace, as she pulled him into a loving kiss. Tom, of course, didn't resist his lover's actions and proceeded to kiss her back. When they finally broke the kiss, Tom placed his toiletries in a different pocket of his suitcase before turning back to Alice.
"As much as I'd love to stop everything right now and shower you with kisses, can we agree to wait until we get to Moon Lake?" Tom asked, to which Alice nodded happily.
Tom and Alice packed the last of their things into their suitcases before carrying them out the front door. Alice proceeded to lock the front door as Tom loaded the suitcases into the backseat of his car. Once everything was ready, Alice got into the passenger seat of the car while Tom got into the driver's seat and started the car.
"Did you remember to lock all the windows and the back door?" Tom asked.
"I did," she said. "Everything is safe. The lights are on a timer, so they'll turn off during the day and turn on at night so people think we're home."
"That's great," Tom said, pulling out of the drive way and onto the road. "I can't believe we're already going back to Moon Lake," he said. "I didn't think we'd be going again this soon."
"Neither did I," Alice said. "But at least we'll be safe."
