Jake wasn't that big into Halloween. He had never been big into it. Sure, he loved the horror movies that would play endlessly on the nights leading up to the day, and of course he loved the candy that came with it, but he hated people coming to his door and the costumes and endless and pointless parties that he was invited to. Nevertheless, he had to do something with his time. He was late in realising that he needed a costume for this party. He hated the idea of wearing a costume for a Halloween party, why couldn't he just come up in his regular clothes? Well, mainly because he didn't want to upset his crush. He was so close to actually having her as a girlfriend, without actually asking her to be his girlfriend. His older brother had this move that Jake was trying to replicate where he could get any girl he wanted without actually asking them if they wanted to be with him.
Jake rocked up to this new costume place, it was the only one open at the time of the party. Jake wanted to rock up late, trying to be as "cool" as he could be. The new costume place was a huge hit with people, for some reason that Jake didn't understand, so getting a costume here would be a perfect way to impress his crush. He opened up the door to the brightly lit store.
"Hey, uh, I need a costume" Jake said to the person behind the counter, who barely had enough time to greet him.
"What would you like?" she asked.
