It had been two weeks since the camera was busted, and Riki was losing it. She was currently doing the families laundry and was not happy about it. She was wearing an apron with rolled up sleeves and only had skimpy shorts. Her hair was tied back in an unruly ponytail and she was sweating from the Southern heat.
For the last 14 days she has been forced to talk and act like a southern housewife. She could still control her body, but she had urges to do more motherly things. Whenever she tried to speak, however, it was a completely different story. No matter what she tried to say it always came out as something completely different. She couldn't even talk to Emily about it. She tried to ask if she was aware but it only came out as "the talk." Needless to say no one was happy there. The only time she could talk normally was when she was completely alone.
Emily and Riki eventually figured out that writing notes worked and started talking again. At first they were mad at one another but by the end of week one they both just wanted to be back to normal.
Riki was gonna lose it. When she wasn't working for these ungrateful jerks she was forced to watch terrible soap operas and listen to country music.
Riki had just finished the laundry when her husband James (the former Jamie) came in with a dopey smile.
"He guess what babe. I finished that their camera like you wanted."
Riki was so happy she could almost kiss him, though she managed to hold back.
"Thank you dearie. You can just leave it in my dresser you here?"
James nodded and went to put the camera away. Riki was so relieved she almost started crying. At this point she almost didn't care what she was. All she wanted was to control her own body again.
Later that night, once James and little Lucy were asleep, Riki and Emily walked downstairs with the camera. Both had written about what the plan was in advance so neither of them talked.
They examined the camera and it seemed to be fine.
Emily picked up the camera and faced it at Riki. Both woman looked at each other with hopeful eyes as she took the picture. The picture came out and they realized the camera had malfunctioned because....
