James started to read out what was on the chapter. He didn't know what the spell would do or if he could change her back, all he had to do was hope. The spell though did seem to have an effect on Nicola. The spell seemed to go through her memories, all of them from her first to her current memory, and started to change some things. The first thing that it changed was how she saw herself. No longer she saw herself as human now thanks to this curse. She didn't like her look now, a look that made Meredith laugh so hard. She felt somewhat self-conscious about herself now, she just looked like an animal, an animal on two legs. The spell started to rework her thoughts. She was trying to figure out why she was self-conscious, but nothing came to mind. She looked at herself. She continued to try and find what was wrong. She was still in one piece, still had all her limbs, still had her head stuck on tight, what was the problem? Maybe because people would think she's hairy? Why would they? They would obviously know that she has always been hairy. After all, it was her fur. Maybe they were jealous that she had a tail? But that's what donkey's have, it's no use of complaining that they haven't got one. The same went for her muzzle, ears and hooves. She found some new found courage in herself. Then she looked over at James, panicking while reading. She always enjoyed his company, more so than anyone else that she was friends with. She also thought he was quite cute, but she wouldn't tell him that, she might have a girlfriend and she didn't want to ruin her friendship. She knew that he was always supportive of him when she was bullied for being different at school, she was the only donkey person in class, but he would always support her. That made her smile. She then looked at the clacking Meredith. How could she have forgotten? It was her mother! Nicola didn't know where she came from, she was an orphan for most of her childhood, but she was adopted by this kind woman who raised her to what she is now. Kind, considerate, and will always help out someone in need.
James finished reading out the chapter and looked to Nicola. "Nicola, are you alright?"
Nicola just looked at James with a huge smile "Of course I am, silly. It was very kind of you to come visit me here at work with Mom, I really do appreciate it, James". She immediately gave him a big hug. James was speechless, even Meredith was speechless. He didn't know what to do now. Could he change her back? Or would that make it worse? Was she stuck like this?
