After basking briefly in the feel-good moment, John said, "Well, I guess it's time to change everyone back before Heather starts wondering what we're doing in here. This Chronivac thing actually seems pretty easy to use. I have everyone completely back to normal within a few seconds. Then we can box this thing up and send it back!"
"Wait, COMPLETELY back to normal?" asked Bruno.
"And then we can be rid of it?" asked Erick.
"Yeah, I just click here and--" he was cut off by another loud throng of voices complaining again, all at the same time.
BRUNO: "Hey, no fair John! Then I won't be able to chat with you all anymore. And I'd really rather be a great dane..."
ERICK: "I'm getting paid by TransDem for this! We can't just send it back. How do you think I'm supposed to pay rent if I don't keep experimenting? I can't magically find another job before the due date..."
JEFF: "I haven't even got to try my own non-accidental transformation yet. I've got fantasies too, ya know..."
ELENA: "You can't do this to me! I can actually speak English now. Do you have any idea how hard it is to be an immigrant in your country? And it's not exactly easy to get ahead as a woman in any country..."
JOHN: "But this thing is dangerous! And I can't just leave you all as talking dogs... can I?"
After another moment of bickering followed by silence, John said, "Okay, just stay right here. I've got to go check on Heather and Junior back over in the other apartment. After I've bought us some more time, we'll figure out a way to sort this all out, I promise." John left the room. The four huskies watched the Chronivac closely. There stats were still there, blinking, waiting for input. John's human stats vanished as he left the emitter's range leaving the four husky stats. What should they do?
