"That's easy..." Gabriela said, holding the Chronivac emitter, snapping it in two in an instant. "I wanted to get rid of it."
"Wait, why?" Edwin cried out, looking at the ruined device in shock, as it began to spark on the floor. "Now neither of us can turn back!"
"Maybe that's now it should be..." Gabriela muttered as she looked back up at Edwin. "No one should have that kind of power, don't you think?"
"I-I guess...." Edwin said softly, seeing her point. "I guess I'm just gonna have to accept that I'm stuck like this..."
"You and me both." Gabriela said, while sighing, looking at the ruined device with a look of longing.
The two children gave each other awkward looks, perhaps realizing that this could've gone a multitude of different ways.
"Wanna play on the swings?" Gabriela asked, speaking up after a bit. "They look... pretty fun, actually."
"Yeah, that'll be your childish behavior." Edwin said. "It's gonna be present in us for a while, so it's definitely something to get used to."
"Allright, then, let's play already!" Gabriela said, in a childlike manner, as she pulled Edwin to the swings. The two had a lot of fun that recess, accepting their new lives, and perhaps even each other.
