Ben dove for the camera as Rick reached for it, their still naked bodies tangling as the fell to the floor and wrestled for the object. In the chaos the camera flashed, illuminating the room. All of them paused. Emily rushed over and snapped the photo from the camera. She shrieked in rage. The others turned to her as she showed them a photo of a very pregnant Latina laying in a hospital gurney. Rick started crying. Marion simply shook his head. Ben looked on confused. Then reality shifted again.
Rick opened his eyes and felt the prick of a needle. He looked around, surrounded by nurses and doctors encouraging him to push. His vagina was on fire and he felt incapacitated as his cervix constricted. He passed out. The next few days were a haze as the pain drugs clouded his senses. He remembered the doctor telling him the twin girls were healthy and looked like their mother. He remembered the men from the adoption agency handing him papers, assuring him that each of the girls was going to a good family. He remembered bits and pieces of the medical staff visiting.
Eventually, he was discharged. Unsure what else to do he wandered home. His apartment was smaller and much more feminine. Small candles decorated with Jesus and the Virgin Mary occupied various shelves. He flopped on a small couch and looked around. Then he noticed the camera, sitting on a shelf, and pondered his next action, wondering why other people were always changing genders but he apparently kept coming out female. That was odd. After much thought, he knew his next step. Track down the other three and see if he could get them back to normal. He couldn’t risk changing himself again or he might lose the camera forever.
