Laura trotted out of the Magic Shop determined to warn her friends quickly about it's owner. She wondered if he had drawn them towards the crystal like he tried to with her and what plans he had for them now they had been changed. Luckily she had escaped the shop unscathed herself. Or had she? She was sure something felt off. She caught her reflection in a shop window. She was a fairly regular looking donkey. Was that right though? It felt kind of natural, but at the same time sonething jarred in her mind - that she looked so out of place around so many humans, that they were staring strangely at her, that one or two of them she even recognised as aquaintances...
"Wait a minute, I'm a human not a fucking donkey" Laura panicked to herself "I want to be myself again, now!"
Laura felt her form shift quickly back into something more familiar and soon she was looking down with relief at human hands. Her joy was soon broken by a wolf whistle from a passer by. Shit! She was naked and on all fours in the middle of the street! Laura quickly jumped to her feet and dived down an empty alley. That bought her a few moments to gather her thoughts at least.
Why had she turned into a donkey? Because she had talked jokingly about being one? In that case she would have to be very careful with what she said and even thought from now on. This wasn't some cool shapeshifting power from a movie she had acquired. She had begun to believe she was supposed to be a donkey and could happily have stayed that way forever if she had been one for much longer. And she never wished for an elephants trunk. Was that the store owner? If other people could transform her this was an even more dangerous curse to be living with. On top of that, losing her clothes whenever she transformed was hardly convenient.
Laura needed to get to the bottom of all this quickly, but before even that she needed to get home. Which was currently pretty challenging without exposing herself to dozens of people. It vaguely crossed her mind to become an animal again to get past the crowds unclothed, but that would be a seriously risky move. Whatever she was going to do, she had to decide fast.
