Laura didn't have much time to think about this. Her mouse instincts would take over before long and she might end up stuck as a dirty little rodent for life. She thought about her friends - they were human, right? But which one to concentrate on?
Sophie maybe? No, she had a tail. Laura was pretty sure she hadn't had a tail before becoming a mouse. That ruled Lucy out too. But what about Annie? She didn't have a tail and she was the only option left. But were humans normally green skinned? Never mind that, where was the cheese kept in this stupid place? No! Forget cheese, concentrate on Annie quickly...concentrate on Annie.
To her relief Laura soon found the room back to it's correct size again. She was in a nice, natural feeling squatting position with her legs spread apart and her webbed, green hands on the floor in front of her. Was that right? She figured it must be. Catching her reflection in the mirror her pretty face was back to normal, even the piercings on her nose and bottom lip were exactly as she remembered them. The green skin felt a little off maybe...but no, she was good. Enough worrying about her appearance it was time to rescue her friends.
"Guys, thank goodness I've found you!" Laura began urgently as she hopped out from behind the cabinet to greet her friends "We have to get out of here quickly or..."
"Oh Laura *croak*!" Annie interrupted her sadly "That horrible witch must have turned you into a frog too *croak* now we have to find two handsome princes!"
"No, wait just a second.." Laura struggled for a moment as her memories reshaped themselves around her friends words. So she was under a frog curse? That did seem to make sense. She even remembered that horrible old witch putting a spell on her. But there was something important she had to do that she was forgetting. What was it?
"Why do we need to *ook* get out of here?" Sophie asked.
Laura paused for a moment. Why did she want to leave the shop? She was sure there was a reason, if only she could remember what it was. To find a prince to kiss her maybe? Or to get back to the pond in Lucy's garden and moisten her skin? Even finding a few tasty flies to stave off her hunger would be a start and there were none here. Or maybe she should just wait here with her friends until the auction tomorrow?
