“Wait sister,” Lisa said, shocked by Gloria statement. “How? I mean if your pregnant with Lynne then how would I become Lynne’s......” Lisa trailed off, her eyes growing wide as she now began to understand where she was heading. Looking down at Gloria’s stomach her eyes grew wide in horror.
“Oh hell no,” she exclaimed. “No way, not happening. I mean I want to be closer with Lynne but that’s ridiculous.”
“Mom,” Gloria said quietly. “Don’t ask how I know but I think that’s whats happening. I think Lynne knows we miss her and that we wanted to get closer to her. This, was her solution.”
“By putting me in the womb with her,” Lisa exclaimed, throwing her hands up. “Gloria don’t get me wrong I like fooling around with my age every so often but that’s a bit much even for me.”
As the two women stared at each other they gasped as they felt the familiar tingle return. Staring wide eyed they watched each other closely. Gloria was going forwards in age, while Lisa kept moving back. Slowly but surely they could see the age gap between the two lessening. As the two women became 25 they were shocked to find themselves the same age.
“Um Mom I think we’re the same age now,” Gloria whispered as she gazed at the attractive red head. Lisa let out an audible squeak as she raced to the hallway mirror. Lisa looked herself over, not at all surprised to see her at 25 years old staring back at her. Lisa’s athletic body, perky breasts, and youthful unlined face gazed at her. “Yeah definitely 25,” she mumbled.
Lisa spun around as she gazed at Gloria, she needed to be firm now if she was going to avoid becoming unborn. “Gloria,” she said. “We have to stop this now. I need you to use the ring to fix this now before things get any worse.”
“I can try mom but I don’t think it will work,” Gloria said. “Please Gloria,” Lisa sighed. Gloria nodded as she now placed the ring on her finger. Closing her eyes she now wished for herself and Lisa to return to their proper ages. After a few moments she looked down at her ring in defeat. “I’m sorry mom,” she whimpered. “There’s something about Lynne’s magic that keeps the ring from working properly. I can’t undo this spell without some help.”
Lisa rubbed her chin nervously, this wasn’t good, not only was she slowly becoming physically younger she could feel herself losing her adult experience. While she did not want to alarm Gloria she noticed she was forgetting things that should of been easy. As she was gradually growing younger she had forgotten things that would take place in the future. Lisa’s wedding date seemed fuzzy now, she remembered getting married but could not remember the day. She was also forgetting her experience running her business with Kumiko, the idea of trying to balance numbers or produce designs seemed foreign now.
“Don’t panic,” she thought. “Don’t let Gloria see that your freaking out. Your still an adult Lisa.” Glancing in the mirror she sighed as a small frown formed on her face. “Just not sure for how much longer.”
“Gloria maybe we should go and see Merlin,” Lisa suggested. “That is unless you think talking with Lynne might help?”
“We can try both mom,” Gloria said. “Try talking with Lynne here first, if that doesn’t work I’ll drive us to the Magic Shop.”
“Wait when did you learn to drive?”
“Umm I haven’t yet,” Gloria replied meekly. “But, this is going to sound really weird, but as I’ve gotten older I um, been gaining experience and memories. So I now um know how to drive.”
Lisa paused, taking this bit of information in. As she was growing younger and losing experience, Gloria was growing up and gaining them. The two seemed to be trading lives with one another now. Taking a deep breath she now stared down at Gloria’s pregnant stomach, she was beginning to run out of options.
