The Halloween party inside the Meat Market, temporarily renamed the 'Slaughterhouse', was much like last year. The nightclub was heavily festooned for Halloween. There were fake cobwebs and spiders clinging to the 'branches' of the 'canopy'. Most of the lights had been replaced with black lights which caused certain things to light up quite noticeably, from costumes to makeup...to places where one would probably not want to sit. And of course, there was plenty of dry ice to keep an eerie fog in the room.
The biggest difference to the party was the various guests there. Not everyone was wearing the same skimpy costume they wore last year and there were plenty of new people at the party as well. With the many expansions that Animalia has had since last year, it really allowed one a chance to see the bigger variety there was with Animalia.
The most common example of that new variety were the various members of Project Pleistocene and Mesozoic who were attending, most of them of them wearing caveman/tribesman costumes of varying degrees of skimpiness. Tyra's costume was more conservative than last year's, but then she wasn't dancing on the stage this time. She was spending a good amount of time on Rex's arm, often rubbing her hand over his bare chest. Sherry was seen in her barbarian outfit, which certainly showed plenty of skin. Wanda was wondering why she was wearing her own barbarian outfit, though it was certainly better than dressing up like a 'sexy firefighter'.
There were other notable people from other projects present at the party. Larry's costume was mostly an extensive coat of body paint to make him look like the Dilophosaurus from 'Jurassic Park'. Petra and Cameron were also present, dressed as a gladiator and Roman senator respectively. Petra was particularly more striking with hir bronze breastplate and her wild mane that was only partially covered by hir helmet. Even a few members of the Five Elements could be spotted, like Huoxing wearing a firedancing outfit and Jinxing wearing a more skimpy version of Borg armor. The others were bound to be wearing costumes that also reflected their individual elemental motifs.
The party was definitely as great as last year's, though not getting too wild. Though plenty of couples were heading into the back rooms for some 'private time' practically every 5 minutes. But as long as it as kept back there, there weren't objections.
