The hair on the portrait was longer and certainly more luxurious than Marcy's. Her frizzled mane smoothed itself and fled in sleek sheets down her back. Marcy didn't notice, nor did she notice the painted hair take on her ragged appearance. Her current concentration was lower on the painting.
Her face though not ugly, carried what she considered to be imperfections. Her nose slimmed somewhat, her chin defined itself more instead of hiding in a round profile, and her eyes shined with a new gleam... She rubbed her eyes wondering what made them tingle, but otherwise continued to disregard what was happening to her. Again the changes in the painting eluded her artistic vision as it took on her old characteristics. And again the changes eluded her perception as her attention was still drawn to a detail farther down the painting.
