... changed once more. At first, Kyle thought he had swapped lives with someone, until he looked around and noticed that Kim was now sitting across from the other nerds but next to no one at lunch. He quickly realized something was up so he decided to look at the student ID he had in his new purse. Inside was still a picture of him, but his hair was now a stylized curly rather than the barely held together mess of nerdy Barb. He read the name and was shocked to see it read Bella Ramirez instead of Barbara Smith.
Looking down, he was now wearing a much more stylish dress and no sweater vest in sight. He found he had sparkly earrings and loopy bracelets all over her arms. His legs were fully shaven and he could tell there was a lot of makeup on his face. He looked around and saw he was sitting with a bunch of fashionable popular girls. It looked like Hispanic Barbara didn't join the cheerleading team but did fit in with the popular girls.
Kyle got a call on his phone and excused himself from the table. He wanted to try and fix this but his instincts told him he had to answer as it was his current life's mother.
"Hola mama. ?Que pasa?" He found himself saying in Spanish.
"Bella, necesita que recojas a tu hermano de camino a casa desde la escuela hoy." His mother demandingly said. Kyle somehow understood what she wanted.
Kyle sighed and replied "Esta hermosa madre, te amo."
Barb, or "Bella's", mother seemed pleased as she hung up. Kyle walked back to the table quickly as he still felt embarrassed being a man wearing a dress but still no one thought he was anything other than a high school girl. He sat down and started to tune out his new friends gossiping about some other girls. Kyle looked back at the group of guys he tried to swap with and saw that one student was now studying a math book rather than a Spanish book.
Kyle was frustrated that he kept missing. He figured it must be the devices accuracy over a long distance. The farther away, the less likely it was to hit. Knowing this, he tried to think of what to do next. Should he risk another long distance shot? Should he just mess around with others instead? His new life's instincts were a bit more neutral on guilt compared to the nerd so he didn't have a clue what to do.
