You were born and shortly after your sister Kellie came out afterwards. Some film and cameras were ready to film the event of twins coming out in modern day. With all the priests gathering souls the ability for the souls needed for a pair of twins managed to be found. Every now and then they would exist, but mostly in myth. Course all the attention was a little scary, but you had someone to talk to.
"I'm scared..."
"As am I... think this'll end?" the two of you were talking without words. The closeness of your souls allowed for a more direct communication without real need for language. The two of you ended up being a lot calmer than most babies, although fussier about certain things. After all they didn't understand that you were making deals with each other. Yeah you'd only drink from the left tit and your sister from the right. Kellie had dibs on things that were pink or had bows unless she started getting to many.
Then the two of you started being toddlers. The two of you thought papa was somewhat proud that you two were clever and thankful you two were getting along... however those same things also drove him up the wall as you two managed to always get where you shouldn't. It got to the point where he said "Just ask if you want to see something. If you can't i'll explain why if I can alright?" Although the more interesting part was one night with your mother.
She said "It's almost like you two can read each others minds."
Tilting your head you said "We can... Is it that odd?" You and your sister hadn't gone out very much. A few months after your birth and most of the excitement had ended, but they didn't take you two out so the two of you hadn't seen many people. Plus the two of you were sure that your parents had some similar ability.
She said "No we can't... I guess that's why?"
Kellie asked "What's why?"
Your mother said "Well, you know how we're reincarnated?" the two of you nodded and she said "Well when the soul of a twin is found it looks like a normal soul. However the soul of someone they loved dearly had ended up following them very closely. So two souls are found instead of one. It's possible that since your souls were so close that the two of you are a little more special than most people."
When the two of you started school you were well looked at from the adults, and while the kids were interested it was more of "Wow, you two look exactly the same!" and less "Holy shoot, your statistical impossibilities who may have weird powers." Course with your telecommunication abilities most studying and similar things were nothing more than a chore.
Then finally during your 8th birthdays you two went out, and a friend of the two of you managed to help make a small surprise party. Although then you saw her 16 year old sister, and thought she was pretty cool. She wore nice clothes, and seemed really fun.
