The redhead in the thick glasses snorted and introduced herself as Nerma. Her friends consisted of a frail Asian girl with pigtails and a plaid skirt named Heather, and a quiet black girl named Jeanette.
"So, uhhhhh, how's it goin'?" Sadie awkwardly smiled.
"Excellent..." Jeanette replied.
"It's good to meet another well trained mind here." Heather added.
"Thanks?" Sadie responded.
When it was time for lunch, the girls gathered around her, talking in formulas and theorems as Sadie awkwardly nodded.
"I can tell there's a problem you have following along with our hypothesis." Jeanette suddenly interjected.
"Honestly, yah. I ain't even sure how I got here." Sadie nodded.
"Are you certain? Your transcript said you had straight As across the board and was even considered for the gifted program." Heather replied.
Before Sadie could as, Heather said, "I work with the counselor for extra credit."
Saddie nodded slowly.
"We would like to help you reach your full academic potential. Will you allow it?" Nerma asked.
"Maybe, I'm not..."
Sadie was cut off by the nerds shaking her hand and arraging a study meeting at the library.
'They sure got friendly fast.' Sadie thought as the nerds embraced her.
