"Uh, ma'am, are you okay?"
"Woof!" barked Ally. The strange man had a concerned look in his eyes. She happily panted, unsure of what was troubling him.
Alfred Dormitabis, owner of the Hypnosis Coin, stared at the clearly hypnotized girl.
"Snap out of it!" He snapped his finges a couple times, but there was no response.
"Wake up." Silence.
"Go back to being human." The girl tilted her head like a confused dog.
"Oh dear." Had the girl suffered a psychotic break? It didn't seem like she was faking it.
Ally sniffed the air, recognizing a familiar scent. She ran forward and pounced on her brother.
Kyle had heard the commotion, and rushed over. "Oh shit, Ally, Ba..." He noticed the hypnotist observing them. "Bad dog! Bad."
Ally made a soft whine, but got off her brother. He stood up, and brushed himself off.
Mr. Dormitabis was still baffled by the situation. "What's going on here?"
Kyle tried to explain. "Hi, I'm Kyle, and this is my sister Ally. I'm a huge fan of yours, and, well, you see... I kind of hypnotized her to be a dog, and I can't get her to snap out of it." It was close enough to the truth.
The hypnotist raised an eyebrow. "Hypnosis shouldn't be able to do something like this."
Kyle blushed. "Well I used your coin, so..."
"Wait, you used my coin?" Alfred's face paled.
"Yeah, and she kind of..."
"Not another word." He glanced anxiously at the crowd. "Let's go somewhere more private."
He ushered them into the theater, telling his confused secretary not to bother them on the way in. Once they were backstage, he gave the two siblings a look of confusion. "What the hell did you do?"
Not knowing what else to say, or what powers the hypnotist may have had, Kyle explained everything he had done to his sister, from the time he found the coin, to her current situation now.
After he was finished, Alfred sighed. "Why haven't you turned her back yet?"
"Oh, well, I, um..." The hypnotist had a good point, but she should have heard the triggers when he was telling the story.
His sister was chewing on a stage curtain."Stop that!" Kyle commanded. Ally, Barbie Doll."
Ally cocked her head, but did not get off the ground.
"Barbie Doll." Again, no change.
"Oh crap, why isn't it working? Um, Good Dog?" Ally barked at the compliment, but did not transform.
"Good girl?" The same result.
"Oh shit." Ally was stuck with a dog's brain.
Kyle tried to think. He didn't even know what had caused this in the first place. Why weren't the triggers working? He latched onto one conclusion. Ally currently had a dog's brain, and dogs couldn't understand English. Thus, Ally couldn't understand that her triggers were being used.
"Can't you snap her out of it?" Kyle said, exasperated. "You're the one who made that damn coin, right?"
"No, I only owned the coin." The hypnotist scratched his head. "We have to go see the wizard."
