Lisa sighed as her daughter disappeared up the stairs. She never expected to get this much trouble from herself. Not this way, at least.
Ann spoke up, "I don't remember you being this bad even when you were that age the first time.'l"
"Easy for you to say! You were already running a successful business by that point, so you didn't have to stay around to put up with the worst of my behavior."
Ann frowned at this statement. Lisa hadn't been that much younger than her, but as she started to protest, she remembered that she was about to start college when Lisa was born. Something was off, but she couldn't put her finger on it.
"At least Gloria was around to help bring me down."
Again, something was bothing Ann, but she definitely remembered Gloria and Lisa being very close when they were growing up.
"Anyway, I was honestly worse than Lynne, but I just didn't have magic at will. Katie wouldn't let me borrow the ring until I mellowed out."
Ann was increasingly bothered by both the conversation and her inability to figure why.
"What's wrong, Aunt Ann?"
"I dunno... Something feels off, but I can't tell what. It's like what you're saying sounds wrong in some way, but I know it's right."
The now 28-year-old Lisa was concerned. "If something is happening, shouldn't we notice it? Maybe you should tell my mom to bring Katie with her when she comes back."
