It's about a 15 minute walk home from the park, and you've all but forgotten about the weird kid's watch you found in the sandpit. Thoughts of school, boys, your friends and summer vacation coming up fill your mind as usual, and you continue trekking home, unaware that the object your found has begun changing your body according to your inadvertent fiddling.
Absently scratching your neck, you wince as your nails scrape a bit harder than you intended. Glancing down, you stop in your tracks at the strange sight of your hands. Your fingernails have grown into sharp points, darkened to almost black, but you haven't painted them in weeks! And you definitely didn't file them this way - totally NOT the style! Your fingers appear shorter as well, stubbier and strange looking on the ends of your arms! Flexing them, you feel a strange puffiness on your palms, and you flip them to find rough patches forming under your knuckles and on the tips of your fingers.
"What the...?!" you can't understand what has happened - these don't look anything like your hands! Maybe there were bugs or something in the sandpit and you're having an allergic reaction?
