You whisper to the black female growlyap. "Is he... going to ask things of me?" You felt both scared and excited at the idea.
The black female hissed, "You're lucky. High-ranking monsters like them tend to be too full of themselves to want to do it with 'low-level trash' like you. No matter how much they smooze out the charm, it's just a game to them. You should see the silver females how they toy with the poor red males."
You felt both a ting of disappointment, and a flash flood of relief. You asked hesitantly. "Can we... get pregnant?"
"... Us? Growlyaps? Technically. But Master hates us 'wasting time' catering to 'little free loaders,' so don't expect any sympathy from Master in that regard, ever. Some monsters like the Muckgoos reproduce by division. Others just aren't built for it. Pregnant monsters and baby monsters or monsters eggs or the like actually have a huge bounty to adventures, only alive. The Princess sees it as 'raising them right' a chance for them to live their lives not without serve our evil dark lord in all his wick glory, may his evil never fade. Monster Townsfolk and Adventurers aren't unheard of. Pregnant monsters tend to hang out on the bottoms levels and find some obscure room to hide in. Sure if they run into an adventurer they're bound to be insanely high level, but the chances of an Adventurer making it that far are a lot lower. "
You don't know why just after getting your new job and losing your entire old life, (that you found you didn't even care about enough to even think about, even if you knew it was the contract you couldn't bring yourself to care about that either), and having faced just one lone adventurer and getting lucky, that you are suddenly talking about being pregnant and everything else. But from what you've been told before, it looked like this was your fate now (not that you minded, thanks contract).
"Wait my fellow monsters! I'm here to help us fight against those mean heroes invading our dungeon of evil!" Said an excited young voice. From their voice, you couldn't tell if it was a he or she. You turned to see another monster enter the dungeon. This was a humanoid mass of green slime, their lower body just a mass of goo, their upper body lacking in any finer details like a belly button or nipples. They were a mass of slime in a humanish looking torso.
Male silver growlyap bristled visibly at the sight of it.
"Great... you can be the front creature for when they enter."
"Yipppie! Thank you! I won't let you down! Hello Silver Male Growlyap, hello Black Female Growlyap, hello Blue Female Growlyap, I hope we all become fast friends defending the dungeon from the forces of good!" They said in the most excited and friendly voice you could imagine.
The Black female growlyap rolled her eyes. "Right Green Muckgoo... happy to work with you too."
"I won't let you down!" They gave a excited salute.
"Shouldn't you be eating up some stains on the walls or something?" Silver male growlyap asked.
"Oh I'm done with that for now! Now I want to help!"
The black female whispered in your ear, "The slimes come in blue, green, red, and silver... the silver ones are fun to see the looks on the adventurer's face as the heroes wet themselves in terror... but the blue, green and reds are just varying levels of 'useless', they're pretty much free fighting experience for the adventurers. They're below even the Gobbos... who are the only two monsters below us. The the giant rats and bats and they aren't really considered 'monsters' like us. The slimes clean up this place, while the Gobbos 'fix the dungeon up' when needed."
"Green Muckgoo!" You shouted. "I hope we become friends too!"
"... Thanks Blue Female Growlyap!" They turned and waved at you.
"Lalalalalalalallaaaaa!" Inside skipped another solo adventurer... except this one looked like a elf child, only a hundred years old you'd say... how'd you know that? She was short, had long pointy ears, eyes were a solid color of blue, and had a mass of curly pink hair that went down her back. She had on a pretty skirt, a backpack, and was wearing hiking boots. She moved with a grace and wistfulness.
You saw the silver male growlyap actually take a step back from her.
"Hiiii!" She waved. "I'm looking for the boss room that leads to the next floor, do you know where it is? I know the dungeon keeps changing, but maybe you know?"
"AAAAHHHHH!" The silver male screamed in fear and threw both his blades at her, spinning and coming at her from with different angles.
"Come out and help me friend!" A rune appeared in front of her. And... a smiling golden growlyap appeared. Gold? ...
"I'll protect you best friend!" He shouted in a happy voice. They quickly put away a book they had been reading and blocked the silver's blades with their own, adorned with custom stickers.
"Thank you Donny! You're the best!"
"A name! Disgusting!" The silver growlyap said in revulsion.
"Careful! The lower level you are, the easier she can befriend you!" The Black female shouted.
"Hello Green Muckgoo! You wanna be my friend?"
A glowing pink heart floated from the monster tamer, and hit the Green Muckgoo... Who turned pink and said.
"Sure! I'd love to be your friend!"
"Okay... your name is Silliney, doesn'tthat sound nice?"
"That sounds really nice!" Silliney nodded.
"Nice to meet you Silliney! We have lots of friends at her house! I'm sure you'll like to meet them!" Donny said. A glowing rune appeared underneath Silliney, who then sank into it, teleported to the Monster Tamer's place.
"At least she's not too bright! Or she'd have taken all us out, worn down silver over there and befriended him!" Black hissed right next to you. You felt like you'd been in a dream, watching what happened... But Donny had been blocking attack from black as the Monster Tamer had befriended Green Muckgoo.
"I have a new friend! I can't wait to talk to her now! Go back now Donny!" And he vanished.
"Bye bye! I hope we can all be friends someday!" She waved at you, she ducked down and then jumped up to avoid Black's spinning boomerangs.
She then took out a flute, and flew pretty little tune with surprising skill... and vanished a swirl of colorful lights.
"Why did you just stand there!" Silver snarled at you, his fear gone as soon the monster tamer was.
"I... I was surprised! Confused! I didn't know what was going on!"
"They can't respawn if a monster tamer befriends them! The dungeon has lost them forever! Master has lost them forever!"
"And you were too chicken to get within range of her befriending heart I noticed!" The black female growlyap snapped back.
The male silver growlyap drew in a breath, not expecting a lower level monster to talk back to him.
"WHATEVER! At least it was a worthless Green Muckgoo!"
