Agent Baoman left soon after the meeting with the FBI agents was over. He drove through most of the night to Moon Lake, pausing to sleep a few hours. It was dawn by the time he finally drove into Moon Lake. He was tired, but he knew that he had to conference with the local police department. The Gamboni's were coming to Moon Lake, and he had to get the trap ready for them. He didn't know when exactly they were coming, but he knew it'd be soon.
Baoman drove into the parking lot of the Moon Lake police department and parked his car. He stepped out of his car to straighten his clothes and stretch his legs and arms. He stifled a yawn and looked around. As it was in the morning, he noticed people coming in and out of the police station. One of the unusual things he noticed was how young and built everyone was. Most of the men looked like they all went to the gym, and the women had generous figures, so to speak. As he was on business, he paid it no mind and kept it on the business at hand.
He walked through the front doors of the police station and scanned the room for the receptionist's desk. He spotted what he was looking for, and approached the desk. A young blonde haired lady looked up at him as he approached. "Can I help you?" she asked.
In any other situation, Agent Baoman might have considered flirting with her, but his mind was on business. "Agent Baoman, FBI," he stated as he pulled out his badge to show the officer. "Is Chief O'Hara available? It's urgent that I speak with him."
"Just a moment," the officer said as she picked up the phone and dialed a few numbers. After a short conversation, she got up and said, "Follow me." Agent Baoman followed in behind her. His eyes couldn't help but notice how he legs and butt moved in that uniform, but he didn't say anything. The two of them reached the office of Chief O'Hara, and the officer knocked on the door. "Come in," a gruff voice called out. She opened the door, and Agent Baoman walked in.
"Agent Baoman," Chief O'Hara said as he stood up to greet the agent. "How goes things?"
"So far, well," he said as he gave a sigh and sat down. "We've caught one of the Gamboni's, but we discovered something that you should know about. We know how they've been tracking the Charlestons."
"Oh," the chief said as he raised his eyebrow. "We knew about the bugged phone that Mr. Charleston had, but there were other ways?"
"Yeah," the agent replied. "Apparently they had access to bank records, so when Moe pulled out a business loan not too long ago, they became aware of it."
"So, does that mean..."
"Yeah, they know where Moe is. We got one of them, but the other two are still at large." Agent Baoman leaned in, "We believe that they're gonna come here to Moon Lake and take out the Charlestons. We're not sure when that'll happen, but we think it'll be in the next few days." He paused as he continued, "I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that these guys are dangerous. They won't just come after the Charlestons, but anyone else connected to them. If anyone was a witness of their crimes..."
"I know," O'Hara said as he put on a serious face.
"I would like our groups to work together on this," Baoman said, "We can't let the Gamboni's get away, and we can't let them get to the Charlestons."
"What do you have in mind?" Chief O'Hara asked.
"A trap. We know that the remaining Gamboni's are coming here. If we're ready for them, we might be able to catch them."
"Mmmm..." O'Hara replied as he sat back and thought for a moment. "I think we might be able to work something out. I can make a few phone calls and assign a few men." He looked at Agent Baoman. "If you don't mind me saying, you look a bit tired. Why don't you head to the local motel and get some sleep? We can meet up later this afternoon to discuss logistics."
Agent Baoman gave a yawn that had long been stifled. "That sounds like a good idea. So, when should we meet up again?"
Chief O'Hara took a glance at the clock on the wall and answered, "How about 4 o'clock? Give you a chance to get some sleep, and we can discuss things further.
Agent Baoman thought for a moment, and nodded his head to agree. The two of them shook hands and Agent Baoman walked out of the room.
As soon as the agent left the room, the chief picked up his phone and dialed for Samantha Twist.
