It was dark.
The walls were made of roughly hewn rocks with streaks of glittery pyrite running through them. Like most of these weird, magic dungeons the floor was pretty flat, easy to maneuver on. For near half an hour the party walked, some members growing more and more unnerved as they went deeper without a hint of any kind of monster appearing.
“Th-there should’ve been something!” the mistress of night Kit said, using her halberd to support herself. Her nervous mind kept imaging sounds around them.
Marceline patted the dark magician girl on her shoulder.
“Chill,” she said bluntly, though at the same time she was finding herself more and more unnerved.
Where were the monsters? Marceline thought. Surely there should have been at least one by now!
“Yeah, lighten up Kit!” Dylan joked, letting another orb of light rise from his wand, illuminating the dungeon. He wished he knew how to safely craft orbs of flame to light the way. The flickering and warmth always made him feel safe. But these light balls? They were naught but light.
“Hey! Look! Dylan, toss one of those ahead!”
Ryan’s sharp eyes - the sharpest of the group - noticed a strange formation in the rougher rock wall ahead. Once a light ball was flung nearer to it, Ryan bounded up to examine the formation. He easily deduced the reason the wall looked weird...
