Later, at dinner, Winona made a discussion with Johnny.
"Maybe if you could spend a bit of time with your son for a while, you might just improve your life." she suggested. "Good idea." Johnny said. "I'm thinking one day, we could all go down to the beach, and go swimming in the ocean. I sure like swimming, I do."
Winona grinned. She seemed quite happy that Johnny was putting family before his work.
She seemed so happy, in fact, she hardly noticed fish scales forming on the back of her husband's neck. She hardly noticed a single strand of Johnny's hair turning from chestnut brown to seaweedy green. But, she could have sworn she saw Johnny shrink almost an inch smaller than his normal height, which was 7'9.
"are you losing weight, honey?" she asked, as she walked past him, collecting the dishes.
"Uh, maybe?" Johnny said as he looked at his wife.
What was up with his memory today? He seemed to have forgotten something rather important.
but all the same, he made his promise to spend some time with his son.
Unbeknownst to his wife, his fish tf was only just beginning.
he went into the kitchen, where Winona was doing the dishes. she turned round, and her eyes popped, as Johnny shrunk almost a few inches smaller than his height. he was now almost the same size as his wife!
"What the?" she said. "Johnny, are you alright?"
"I... uhh. I am... just feeling a little... dehydrated." Johnny stuttered. he got himself a glass of water, and drunk it, then hustled outta the kitchen.
in the living room, Ryan just so happened to see his dad entering.
he gasped. "Dad, you're shrinking!" Ryan said, shocked.
"Holy carp, what's happening to me?!" Johnny exclaimed as he shrunk smaller and smaller, even smaller than Ryan. Thankfully, his clothes shrunk with him.
at that moment, he heard his wife calling. "Johnny, are you in the living room?"
"Oh no!" the now doll-sized Johnny exclaimed. "Ryan," he said, "If Winona asks, don't tell her what's happening to me!" He darted into the cupboard under the fish tank and shut the door, just as Winona entered.
"Ryan, where is your dad?" Winona asked. "oH, I think he went upstairs. he's gone to the bath to freshen up before bed." Ryan said. "Right." Winona said, and she left.
Ryan went up to the cupboard under the fish tank and opened the door, and there he saw a doll-sized captain hat, a doll-sized sweater, doll-sized blue jeans, and doll-sized blue socks and black boots, just like the ones Johnny wore.
"Dad?" Ryan said, worried.
Either his dad was now tiny and naked, or he'd turned into a fish.
