“Wow Borden, you did even greater than normal today! Even the other team looked super impressed!” A magenta-haired girl, dressed in a dark blue cheerleader uniform eagerly told the captain of her school’s soccer team. A heated match had just finished, and his team had just barely managed to win.
“It was a team effort… I didn’t do anything that special, and I couldn’t have won without the team.” Borden said, nice as always… But the cheerleader, Juliet, just giggled, patting his back.
“And they wouldn’t be able to do this without their leader!” She exclaimed, though he just smiled back. “So, we should celebrate this victory, right?” She asked eagerly, taking hold of his hand.
“Celebrate?” He asked back, the idea taking him by surprise. But after thinking for a few seconds, he nodded in agreement. “...Yeah. That would be good!”
And then the two walked off - she didn’t even consider that he should have taken a shower...she wanted to plan this celebration immediately. As the crown of viewers began leaving, one person remained. Her chin was planted in her palms, elbows resting on her legs as she just had to process what happened. Not the match itself, but what happened afterwards… Juliet was going to woo him. Take him away… She let out a big sigh.
Belle tossed her bag aside as she closed the door to her room behind her. Juliet was pretty, confident, and athletic, unlike herself… She dropped face-first onto her bed, not bothering to change into anything other than her school uniform… Maybe she should try to attend the part? After a second of considering it, she shook her head at the idea. She hated parties… They’re too loud, and full of people. She wasn’t a fan of stuff like that. She rolled over on her back, staring up at the pale pink ceiling. Did having a pink-colored room make her look childish? Juliet was pretty mature… Maybe Borden like that? Her blue hair got in her face, so she blew it away. It was just shoulder-length, and meanwhile, Juliet’s was so long and pretty… Why was she comparing herself to Juliet so much?!
Belle sat up, patting her own cheeks a couple of times. “I-it’s fine, me! He doesn’t like her that way!” Belle attempts to convince herself. She’s just overreacting…
Figuring she just needs to distract herself, she gets up, and on her computer. ...Still, the thoughts wouldn’t stop bothering her, so she couldn’t help but to browse for...some tips to help her out. ...Most of it were just vague articles about how to be a better person, some videos that attempt to be uplifting and inspiring… Nothing that honestly helps her. She just, in all honesty, wants to find a way to make sure he falls for her...and no one else.
...That was until she clicked on some oddly-named website. “Become your crush’s dream” was the website’s slogan, as much was obvious… It was plastered everywhere. And the glittery, purple background gave it a sort of outdated look. Still, she decided to humor herself and look into it. Her firewall didn’t seem to have a problem with it, so what could possibly go wrong?
After clicking around, she comes across a...question sheet of some sort? The first question was: Are you happy with yourself?
Belle was short, had an honestly average build, shy and nerdy… She clicked no. She didn’t really feel that unhappy with herself, but she wanted to see where the site would go with this. Next question was: Are you willing to change for the one you love?
“Change?” She thought out loud, not sure what the site meant by that… Like, change what she likes to wear? Her behavior? The only options were yes or no, so it’s not like she could answer maybe...or even get a better explanation of what the question meant.
Well, it’s not as if her answer will do anything...so she just clicks yes again. ...And the website crashed? She clicked numerous times, but nothing reacted - she couldn’t even close the website! “Ugh, what happened now…” She said to herself, getting worried that she somehow did get a virus. ...But all of a sudden, a melody began playing from her speakers. It was...relaxing. Really, really relaxing… And she couldn’t stop it… Belle yawned, trying to push herself up from her chair...only to yawn again. ...She felt tired all of a sudden. The melody kept playing, drowning out anything else...even her own worries. Using her keyboard as a not very comfortable pillow, she started dozing off…
“Huh? Wh-what happened?” She found herself in some kind of...cloudy...place. It looked like she was floating in mid-air! “Eek! A-am I falling?!” She hugged herself, preparing to see the land below her at any moment...only to realize that she wasn’t falling? Hesitantly, she tried taking a step forward, and then another. She couldn’t feel any invisible floor under her, but she still could walk forward...probably. “Is this some...dream? It has to be… I-I fell asleep back in my room!” She realized. A lucid dream! ...She tried to imagine that Borden was there with her - lucid dreams would let her do whatever she wanted, right? ...But he didn’t appear.
“Beginning download. Prepare for the transformation sequence.” A robotic voice boomed, echoing across the empty space and naturally freaking Belle out, making her cover her ears. “Wh-wha-? What’s happening now?” Even covering her ears didn’t hold the voice out, and her body started feeling weird…
“Changing subject into their crush’s ideal partner.” The robotic voice stated, initializing the transformation Belle was about to undergo...into whatever Borden desired the most, whatever that may be.
