Chad waited until Leif’s voice fully faded into the distance. He was terrified of what else Leif could do to him, and he had no desire to be mounted by Donner again. He lay on his side for a while longer, taking a closer look at his reindeer body.
The world looked odd, like it wrapped around him more. Chad realized his eyes were closer to the sides of his head, rather than forward-facing. He craned his overly-long neck to look toward his rear. He could hardly believe what Leif had done to him. Not only was he no longer human, but he wasn’t even male.
His 8 teats peeked mockingly through the fur on his belly. They were thinner than he had expected, and they crawled up to just south of his ribcage. He had no idea how many teats a reindeer should have, but he was sure it had to be something Leif had done to him to maximize milk production. He cringed at the thought what else Leif had done with his body.
Chad pulled himself off the dirty, hay-covered floor to get a better look at his stall. Three of the walls were solid wood, while one was more metal bars. A small window allowed Chat to see outside, but it wasn’t even large enough to fit his head through. However, he could peek out of his stall to see the rest of the barn, which had at least 7 more stalls like his lining a hallway. In the distance, he could even see bales of hay. Oddly enough, his appeared to be the only stall that was occupied.
Also within his stall were two troughs, one apparently for water and the other for feed. A metallic shaft rose from the feed trough, and Chad’s best guess was that it was automated. The water trough looked like it would need to be manually filled. The stall was thankfully large enough that he needn’t worry about sleeping within his own excrement, but it was not large enough to move beyond a slow canter.
Chad walked into each of the walls and tried bucking into them in order to find a weakness, but they were very sturdy. After repeatedly bashing into the stall’s entrance for a few hours, even Chad knew a fruitless endeavor when he saw one, and stopped. Leif and his family had surely designed this place to be inescapable for their prisoner. And what would he do if he did escape? Be on the run for however long reindeer take to give birth, then a bit longer while the baby got weaned? Leif would probably be able to sniff him out in the...probably like nine months it’d take if he escaped today.
He’d be better off escaping after the birth. Then, it would just be a matter of not being milked for a while, and he could turn back. Besides, this is a reindeer farm. They’d surely have to move him with the other reindeer once they thought he was broken, and that place would probably be easier to break out from.
Chad considered what he could do next. Leif had nabbed him Wednesday evening, but it was mid-morning based on what he could see from the window, which meant it must be Thursday. Or, it’s hopefully Thursday. That means Leif would be back on Saturday or Sunday, but that didn’t mean no one would be keeping tabs on him.
