Long, long ago, in this galaxy, a massive space ark approached the third planet from the sun.
"Chief Scientist Morbo, there is a planet that meets your general parameters, but it is teeming with life, and the atmosphere, and temperatures are less than ideal for our species. I dispatched a scout ship, and the saurian life forms will pose a serious threat to our species due to the relative size," said the ark's Captain Zerff.
Morbo's countenance displayed amusement.
Adjutant Scientist Marzif frowned. He had been troubled by this entire program. This was the latest in unacceptable actions that Morbo had taken. The ark was loaded with members of their species, and no livestock. Morbo had insisted that he would use the genetic library to convert any alien species into livestock for the colonists. Theoretically, it was possible, but Marzif had his reservations.
"How are we to survive on such an uninhabitable world?" Marzif asked.
"We must adapt, Marz," Morbo replied, "Captain launch the asteroid at the target we chose earlier."
"Sir, ar-"
"Launch it now."
"Yes, sir."
Morbo rubbed his hands together. He was about to create a new world -but first to erase the old one, and then he would modify his ark of Xenoans into what was it they had decided to name this water world? Terrans. He grinned. He would begin by hybridizing his species with the indigenous life forms that were most compatible. It might take millions of years, but he had planned for that too.
