(Giving the character the name Kyle)
None of these items spoke to Kyle. He wandered through aisles of potions, relics and jewels. Finally he came to the back of the store. There he saw a pedastal. A light shown around it and as he approached the lights dimmed.
This must be it, Kyle thought. This is what I’ll pick
He reached out and in his hand he grabbed...
“A calculator?” Kyle said bewilderingly.
“Excellent choice,” said the shopkeeper suddenly behind him. “This is the Calculator of...well actually I don’t think it has any special name.”
“You’re really giving me a calculator as my magical item?” Kyle asked.
“Don’t fret child,” the man chided. “It is a very special calculator.”
Kyle looked it over. He guess it did seem to have a lot buttons on it as well as some kind of sensor at the top.
“This calculator can perform any math equation on anything,” the man explained. He grabbed the calculator and pointed at a potted plant nearby. Showing Kyle, he hit an amount button and multiplied it by 3. Two plants materialized out of thin air. He selected the size section and added 3 meters of height for one of the plants. It stretched comically taller than the others.
Finally, he hit the generate button and typed in bird and +1. He pointed the calculator at his hand and a small finch appeared in it.
“My boy,” the shopkeeper said to the awe eyed Kyle. “There are so many more things you can do with this. Especially in this world you’ve gotten yourself into.”
The shopkeeper handed him the calculator Andrew Kyle rushes home. He didn’t want to be late for dinner. He thought for a moment. He typed in “Number of Brothers x0” and pointed it at himself.
When he eventually returned, his dads had set the table. It was a smaller table than normal, only for three.
“Come on in Kyle!” said one of his dads. Kyle eagerly sat down. Dinner seemed normal and it was as if Max and Sam were forgotten. Kyle quickly ate and ran upstairs to his room to test some things.
