Growing up, Robert Gronner had always been the disappointment. Not short, but not excessively tall, not skinny, but not overly fat either. He was a disappointment because he never stuck in people's minds, even if it was a negative register. He wasn't completely ignored, but he just didn't matter to other people.
All through high school, and now starting college, he'd just kind of been in the background.
But no more.
Having purchased the wishing stone, he was finally taking control, he was finally going to be noticed. But he wasn't going to be stupid about it.
Getting back to his car, he decided how he would word his wishes. Always very specific, never an unlimited word like 'taller' or 'bigger', or 'more'. And then there was his little safety wish.
"I wish that whatever I do or say, my wishes or their results won't kill me or erase my existence." Just then, the rock got warmer, really quick, and he felt a tingle run up his arm.
"Alright, let's test this baby out.."
