“What the hell are you going on about?” Peter asked confused
“N-never mind. Just thinking out loud, just ignore me.” Jon quickly said
“Already on it.” Peter said shaking his head, mumbling something about his useless big brother
Quickly Jon ran up stairs to his room and locked the door behind him. He sat on his bed and took a close look at the phone. First thing he realised was that the phone didn't have a charging port. In Fact there was no icon displaying charge either. It didn't even come with a charger.
After witnessing the phones power first hand Jon concluded that the phone was magical and that all the stuff his grandparents were always going on about was true! Why they would make a phone magical is another question but his grandparents were pretty eccentric.
Jon wanted to test the power of the phone but he decide to take a closer look at the app to see if he was missing something. There were two options at the top of the screen, progression and options. Options were locked but progressions opened to a brand new screen.
It looked kinda like a skill tree from one of Jons video games and a XP meter at the bottom. Most of the screen was taken up by a black shadow, making most of the option silhouette. However The first one was visible, it simply said “tutorial” and it said I needed to reach level two before I reached it.
Putting the tutorial after the fact was weird but presumably his grandparents made this so they might not be very wise to video game trends. The bar looked mostly full anyways so one more transformation would do it presumably Jon decided he would be testing it on himself and he decided to transform make himself taller.
In the text box he typed, Jon becomes two inches taller. Suddenly he shot up a bit. His perspective changing. He looked around, a little disappointed by how simple the change was.
“Well since it works, let's do a little body improvement!” Jon grinned. He typed in Jon losses all excess fat. Suddenly Jons whole body shivered and quaked. He could feel his skin tighten and reduce as he quickly became lighter.
Excitedly he lifted up his shirt to reveal his now perfectly flat stomach. “With this phone I can be coolest guy in the year” He laughed. He looked back down to the miracle device to see a strange message appear. He assumed it was the mysterious “tutorial”.
Dear Jon
If you're reading this you now know of the existence of magic and have received your own implement. There's no easy way to say this Jon but your a mage, someone with magic naturally flowing in their body. Are blood line was thought to dry up with your father, which is why we were so surprised to find out you had magic. Mage bloodlines have slowly lost all their power over the last 2000 years and we thought ourselves the last until recently when we discovered your gift.
We only found out last year when you came to visit so apology for not telling you sooner Jon but we are old now and are powers are drying up with are decrepit body's so preparing this implement to a year of constant work. If your grandmother and I have lived long, full lives and the continuation of magic is more important than are health so if you're reading this we are already gone. Sorry it had to be like this Jon.
Anyway enough yammering Jon this is about you. The phone in your hand is’t a actual phone it's a implement, think of it as a magic wand. Each person's implement is unique to them with their own unique powers and abilities that can grow over time. I don’t know what form you are receiving this message is but know that this is how you grow in power.
Be careful in using your implement as they run from your internal magic source, using it too much will drain you and make you exhausted. Watch out, magic exhaustion always sneaks up on you. Beyond that be careful with your powers jon, as the last mage we expect your to be extremely powerful when you grow up, possibly the most powerful mage ever. Hide the use of your powers from the world as governments or people will try to take advantage of you. Id recommend not telling others of your powers at all but this is not my decision grandson. It's yours. This is your story to make.

Jon had tears in his eyes. He would make his grandparents proud. As he wiped his eyes he looked at the screen and saw a message. Chose a skill you. You can always go back and take the ones you didn't pick later. The three skills were branching off the tutorial Box in separate direction and were the following -
Clothes alteration
The ability to alter clothes with the device.
World blind
Everyone will think that a transformation was always there expect for the caster. This option can be turned on or off in the options settings.
Mind alteration
The ability to alter minds with the device.
