Paulette had just gotten home from her friend's 15th birthday. They're birthdays were always close so they loved hanging out before their parties. Paulette hopped out of the car when she noticed her mom watching her from the car. "Like, what's up Mom?" She asked. Anna was trying her best not to laugh. She thought her father was adorable as a teenage girl and even after a day it was hard for her not to laugh at the situation. "Oh nothing dear, I just love you!" She said, trying to imitate something corny a mother would say.
Paulette just scoffed and returned to texting as she walked back inside. She walked past her dad preparing something in the kitchen who also seemed to be extra happy about something. Paulette figured it was just her parents being weird old people and went upstairs to her room. She loved her room but hated it right now as her little sister Sarah shared it with her. When she arrived she walked in to find Sarah playing dolls with her friend Akane.
"What are you doing dork, get out of my room." The former husband said to her former wife. "No Paulette! It's my room too! Plus I have a friend over! You know what Mommy's rules are." She said. Paulette wanted to snap back but the last time she did that her mother went off on her. Paulette made a pissed off face and then slammed the door. She started stomping down the hall thinking of ways to get back at her when she saw the spare room door was open.
"Huh." She thought. "Dad usually keeps this closed." She walked inside and sat down on the nice chair her "dad" kept in there. She smirked as she enjoyed the silence and continued to text on her phone. After a few minutes, she looked up and noticed the computer was on. She was about to turn it off when she noticed some weird stuff on the screen. Paulette thought it looked like the sims or something.
She clicked around and found icons for everyone in the house. She was confused as to what it was, so as she fiddled she ended up selecting her parents. Downstairs, Anna and Greg were having a nice discussion about their new roles. "Isn't it super weird being looked up to like this?" Anna asked. Greg replied but not in the way Anna expected. "Yeah honey, I'm so happy our family is the way it is." Anna was about to ask what he meant when she suddenly couldn't remember why she was gonna ask that. Their faces straightened a bit as Anna picked up the conversation.
"I'll bring Sarah's friend back at six. Can you make sure Edmund's girlfriend comes over at the right time so we can have dinner at 7?" She asked. "Of course honey." Greg said, half paying attention." Meanwhile, back upstairs, Paulette was confused with this computer game. She had turned her parent's "awareness" off, whatever that meant, and nothing seemed to happen. Paulette looked around and decided she can at least get some fake revenge right now.
