Bob's mind didn't completely disappear when he became Eric. He was overwhelmed by Eric's hormonal storms and hyperactive imagination. Bob didn't know that Eric suffered from Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. Bob was also surprised that Eric was much hornier than even Bob had been when Bob was that age. But after Eric had drifted off to sleep, Bob began to wake up a little.
"Alright, I'm Eric now and in Eric's bed. The medallion is probably still at home. This might work out for the best if I play it right. It does feel good to be Eric. I just want to sleep and let Eric have control but I can't let myself give in. Maybe just for a while. I can't do anything right now anyway."
Bob drifted off to sleep too but he woke up occasionally to make plans. Eric woke the next morning and headed to breakfast. Now was Bob's chance and he spoke through Eric's mouth, "Mom, Mr. Morrison offered me a job as a ranch hand. He wants me to help him with his new horses. He even offered to let me sleep there."
Mrs. Victor asked, "How often will you be gone."
Eric Victor suddenly startled and wondered where that idea came from. He didn't remember Mr. Morrison talking to him about it. "I don't know. I think I got distracted."
Mrs. Victor said, "Oh Eric, you need to go talk to Mr. Morrison and focus until you've worked out a schedule. It would be good for you to have a job but I don't want it to interfere with your education or your health."
So Eric went back to Mr. Morrison's house. "Good morning Mrs. Morrison. May I speak with Mr. Morrison."
Mrs. Morrison said, "He's not home which is surprising. I don't know where he is. He wasn't home all night?"
Eric asked, "Is he missing."
Mrs. Morrison said, "I don't think so. It's not like him to leave without letting me know where he went but he probably left a message somewhere that got lost. I'm sure he'll turn up soon and tell me where he went. You may come in and wait for him."
Eric went out to the stable and saw Jasper. Jasper stamped impatiently. "What's wrong, Jared. Do you want to be human again?"
Jared nodded.
"I'll look for the medallion." But then Eric noticed the new Clydesdale and forgot about Jared. "Where'd you come from? Are you Mr. Morrison?"
Bonnie just kept munching grass.
Then Eric saw another harness hanging on the wall and forgot about Bonnie. Instead he reached for the harness.
Bob woke up and shouted "No, Eric, No."
Eric forgot about the harness but his mind was unfocused.
Bob said, "I'm worried about Bonnie. She might have colic. She needs to go see a vet. Eric, if you can't focus long enough than call Carl and get him to help get Bonnie to a vet. Take Jasper just to be safe."
Carl headed inside as he pulled his phone out and dialed Carl. Carl said, "Hey Eric, what's up." but then Eric saw the medallion.
