It was your single greatest desire to use the die to create more fairies... out of Marissa and Lucy! They were your friends, they deserved such a beautiful blessing. But even with three fairies in the world... things might be tight.
You had realized you were vulnerable to iron, same as any fae, and if all three of them were vulnerable to it, then the die might end up lost for who knew how long? No, you needed to plan carefully. And if there really was someone out there who might still be around thanks to the power of the die who had erased your kind once before... you were going to need someone who wasn't vulnerable to iron around.
Marissa said, "Well... if magic is real, then it feels like a screw up that it was basically wiped from the history books... But, no offense, but if blood sucking immortal aristocrats used to be real, I can't say that I'm sorry they're gone."
"But it sounds like whoever made these changes wasn't really concerned if they were good or bad. They just want them ALL gone. Fauns? What danger to humanity would a buncha hooved hippies in the woods be?" Lucy said.
"I dunno, mind control pan flute music? If humanity was surrounded on all sides by creatures who could turn you into a frog by wiggling their nose, how bad would you feel if they all went away?"
"Look, from the sounds of it, whoever it was basically committed genocide! Either killing them all off, or wishing them out of existence! I don't care if this guy had good intentions or not, it sounds more like he was some sort of 'human supremacist' if Emma is any example, they were thinking feeling PEOPLE."
Marissa startled at that, but nodded. "Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it that way. I don't want to sound cruel, but if we're really living in a world created by taking lots of the pieces out of it, then we ought to be super careful about putting the pieces back in!"
"That's fair," Lucy said.
"Hey girls, I have an idea for the die!" You said.
The girls looked at each other.
"Girls, trust me," you said giving them puppy dog eyes.
"What are you going to wish for?" Marissa asked.
"Oh that's easy. Just that people like me, who are turned into 'mythical' creatures, and everyone else, would accept them BEING mythicals as NORMAL and same with magic."
Marissa said, "... Okay, I'd say something about free will, but it's easy to guess the panic and freak outs and trigger happy paranoids that would happen. And if this stuff really was TAKEN OUT of the world, then we're just fixing it."
"But what if you get a 1? Won't that just makes EVERYONE be nuts? INCLUDING YOU?"
That made you hesitate. But you said, "Well then, then we better make this wish NOW, while I AM the only one. We saw with your hair that a bad roll can be fixed with another wish, and it happening twice in a row is four-hundred to one."
"Maybe just exempt us from the wish? That way, if it reverses, hopefully it'll invert THAT part of the wish if we're lucky, and we'll just be fine with it," Lucy said.
Marissa didn't like the idea of that, "Maybe we should just wait on this?"
"No time like the present!" You said. "Trust me, the more we fret over this, the more we're going to be scared of using the die! Just let me have a go at it!"
With some hesitation, you're given the die... which was at least the size of a beach ball to you!
You seriously considered adding Marissa and Lucy to the wish, so you could make more of your own kind without them making trouble about it... but if the '1' happened, then you were going to NEED THEM to roll again and fix you from hating your own existence!
The journal had said that 'if/then' wishes couldn't be used to cheat a '1' roll.
"I wish that anymore people turned into mythicals would be fine with what they are and accept it as normal, and that the world would too on both counts. Me, Melissa and Lucy aren't directly affected."
'Time to see what we get,' you think as you roll the die, and you all hold your breath.

You all let out a sigh of relief.
"Well. That's a relief," Lucy said gratuitously.
You feel almost annoyed at all that worry over nothing.
