CYOTF (New)

A fishy potion

added by kittypwa 5 years ago O

It was here. It was finally here. I had to wait for close to six months for the box to arrive, six months of being unable to sleep as excitement slowly built up to become absolutely unbearable. I rushed out of the house, practically skipping along before I stuffed my hand into the mailbox, retrieving a small box with a note attached to it.

Looking around suspiciously for anyone that could possibly be watching, I hid the package under my shirt and tried an inconspicuous walk back to the house. As I reached the final last steps I threw caution to the wind and rushed inside, slamming the door and locking it, breathing deeply as a giddy smile slowly curved my lips upwards. A small voice in the back of my head chided me for such foolish and childish behaviour, pointing out that noone would know or even care about the box and its contents. I ignored it and proudly placed the trophy on the table and looked down at it.

Brown and unremarkable, I finally couldn’t stop myself from diving on it, shredding it away with delight and, I had to admit, a bit of glee. Once the packaging had been ripped up, a small flask was revealed with a manual. I cast a curious glance at the manual as any sane person should before using this kind of potion but made a bit of face when I realized the whole thing was completely destroyed in my rampage. I could still make out a few of the last instructions on the bottom which seemed simple and obvious enough : pour the liquid in a glass and drink it. The rest was history or rather in little pieces scattered in confetti on the floor. Oh well.

I grabbed the flask and a cup from the kitchen before going out in the garden, forcing myself to a walk. After all, this was to be a solemn moment, a turning point in my life. I was grinning foolishly now and I didn’t care. My hopes and dreams would finally come true.

I relished the sensation of grass blades on the soles of my feet, the dirt between my toes as I walked to the back of my backyard, knowing full well that it would be the last time I would feel this for… quite some time at the very least. I looked out in front of me, my pond with its little fountain and hand-made cascade that always soothed me when I was stressed. I sat down on the few wooden steps that led to the water’s edge, offering my face to the sun as I set the flask and glass by my side.

How would it be, I wondered. How would I change? I’d long fantasized the whole process, hoping this and that but I refused to think about it now. I didn’t want any false expectations to ruin this moment. I took out my phone and set the camera, facing me. I could see a woman in her early twenties with flaming red hair bundled up in a pony tail. A purple summer shirt that let my belly show with blue shorts beneath were the only clothes I wore. I smiled at the lense and waved declaring:

“Hi! This is Natasha and these are my last moments as a woman. This” I said as I raised the cup, pouring the contents of the flask into it,“will change my life forever. How? You’ll have to find out in the rest of this video, tee-hee”. Tom said that I always made that ‘tee-hee’ sound when I was excited and that it was ridiculous. I didn’t care all that much, after all, I wouldn’t be making that kind of sound any longer now, would I?

I took a deep breath. Bottoms up!
