Jacob only had a moment of relief before he realized all his sister, Ashley, would See was a regular hug on her book. And the what was she going to do?
“Ashley! Help!” It wasn’t exactly a voice, it was a series of clicks and grunts that approximated the words. His mouth wasn’t set up for human communication. He felt his body release panic pheromones...that was more natural.
Ashley paused. She glanced down. There was a cute ladybug on her book...a pretty sizeable one. And it was making a weird buzzing. It seemed to be waving its front legs...it was truly odd.
That’s when Jacob had a brainstorm. He darted across the page...it took him a minute or so the first time...he ran from letter to letter, pausing momentarily. Ashley was puzzled by the odd dance, but she was the smart one in the family. Her eyes went wide as she realized it was spelling something.
J A C O B

Jacob sighed...or did the ladybug equivalent. Then he darted between two letters. M E M E M E
Ashley just stared, “You’re Jacob?” This was unbelievable. It couldn’t possibly be real. But the bug was spelling Y E S
