As you look down at yourself, then back up at the deer, your brain has trouble piecing together the information you're seeing. You start to look around the room to get your bearings, but the room is now impossibly huge. You know the ceiling wasn't that high, or the machinery, or...
Oh no! You scramble up to your feet. The deer is only a couple feet away form you, and your gaze is level with her upper shin! You look down at your body in confusion. It has the rough shape of a human, but doesn't have much detail to it. You have a torso with arms that extend to mitts for hands and legs with foot-shaped lumps, kind of like a mannequin.
You test one of the arms, bringing a mitt up to your face. It bends at the elbow with a rubbery squeak, and to your relief, you feel your facial features underneath the strange appendage as you probe your head for changes.
As you fully realize the situation, you look up at the deer and blurt, “What happened? Why am I so small?”
She looks down at you in confusion.
“What do you mean 'what happened'? I fixed you so that you'd have a body. I couldn't use too much more material or you may have lost the ability to move at all. We don't even understand the process that allowed you to become a balloon to begin with. I'm not a miracle worker. You should be thankful that I preserved your head. Very few could have done that.”
You continue to examine yourself as you take a few unsure steps. Walking feels strange and unsteady, like a strong breeze could blow you away. Your joints also feel a bit stiff, like you have to work against your material to bend. It's going to take a lot to get used to.
The doe watches you for a bit before sighing and saying, “Anyway, I've probably already spent too much time here. I'll need to report this before the fox can get into any trouble. If we're lucky, he hasn't left the park yet.”
She then turns and starts walking to the door. You stumble after her as quickly as you can, worried at how difficult it is to keep up with her easy stride.
“Wait! What about me? What am I supposed to do?” you ask in a panic.
She turns back and replies...
