Currently, the Animalian School of Modeling wasn't very busy. With Valentine's Day finished and the Lunar New Year not demanding a lot of attention, Maggie was able to focus a bit on the paperwork part of her job. Which wasn't quite as simple as it sounded. For instance, she need to approve a few things for the Mardi Gras celebration then come up with some green ideas for St. Patrick's Day. At least Easter was a lot later than usual this year so Maggie wouldn't have to cram something together in a short amount of time. She didn't have to do everything herself, thankfully, but a lot of the big decisions were left to her.
"Ok, let's see what Clara has in mind for the Carnival," said Maggie, moving her attention a newer folder.
"Is it supposed to in the same week as St. Patrick's Day?" asked Martha. Maggie found her to be a good sounding board sometimes. Technically speaking, she didn't have any political power herself, being the wife of the deputy-mayor. But she knew Clara well enough to be able to explain her ideas.
"Probably," said Maggie, "But we're not having a renaissance fair this year, right?"
"Not during the Spring Festival, at least," said Martha, "Clara wants to have a different theme for the festival. Variety is important, you know."
"Of course, it's one of the lessons I teach," said Maggie.
"Anyways, renaissance fairs are traditionally held during the fall when it isn't too hot. I think Clara is planning on having a fair then, though I don't know when," said Martha.
"I just hope we'll get pleasant weather with this Spring Festival," said Maggie, "There wasn't much of a spring last year." Just then, there was a knock on the door. "Come in," called Maggie.
The door opened and Milly stuck her head in. "Have you got a few minutes?" she asked.
"Of course," said Maggie, "I would have thought you'd be with your new hubby."
Milly blushed a little under her fur. In any other circumstance, Lenny would have been in a lot of trouble for marrying a girl who was so underage. But she was physically, mentally, emotionally, and legally an adult thanks to the double-dose she got. She was just glad to have a quiet wedding without it becoming a circus. "Well, I actually wanted to talk about when would be a good time to ask for time off. You know, for our honeymoon," said Milly.
"Do you really need to ask?" asked Maggie, "Of course you can have as much time as you need."
"But we really can't just go any time," said Milly.
"Is this more about the weather or about your work schedule?" asked Maggie.
"Well, both, maybe?" guessed Milly.
"I don't think the weather will be a problem," said Martha, "The weather in Mieni Atoll and Maelewano are consistent year-round, though I'm not sure when Maelewano's rainy season begins. Vilcabamba is probably in the rainy season, but it's almost always rainy season in the rainforest. And I'm assuming you'd rather not go to New Zerzura because of the cats."
"Not sure I'd like the desert anyways," said Milly, "But aren't there any big jobs coming soon."
"I think I can spare you until the Spring Festival," said Maggie, "You don't have to be here for Mardi Gras, but I would like you back by St. Patrick's Day at the latest."
"I think that would give me more than enough time," said Milly, "What is the Spring Festival this year, anyways?"
"We were just about to have a look," said Maggie, opening the folder.
Milly looked at the plans along with the other two supermodels. After studying them a bit, Milly already had an opinion: "Cool."
