"How about that house?" I pointed at the most distinguished house in the neighborhood. Unlike the others who has only two-stories, this house has four. It has no shingle roofs and rather, an empty rooftop. On second thought, It's more of an office rather than a house.
"Sure. It's your choice." Henry said.
I flew to the building and passed though its concrete walls. The interior is somewhat, homey? It's plain and the furniture are minimalistic. The owner must be connoisseur of form over function.
From the hallway, I floated over rooms after rooms. Each one emptier than the last. But the last room was the most different. Prismatic lights filled the room. Sounds of gunfire and profanities emanated in every corner. At the end was a chair where a high pitched voice is coming from. I flew and realized that it wasn't an imp creating those noises. It was boy. He is a bit younger than Henry but a whole lot better looking. He has a weird hat covering a bit of his hair and both of his ears, like a muffler. He was also talking into an appendage from the said muffler.
"Go to the left Leonard." He said. I turned around to find this Leonard but we're the only people in room. "There! Behind the rocks."
Out of a sudden, his fingers were twitching. He was agitated but laughing at the same time. And just like that, he went calm again.
"Phew. That was a close one. Do you have health packs?" He said.
Whatever this kid is saying, I'm not getting any of it. Irregardless, I have one goal why I was here. I dashed straight to the boy and everything went black.
The world was black. Everything and everywhere. But in distance, was an orb of light. A prism of colors changing every second. From that orb, a voice is screaming. It was muffled but it became clearer every time I move closer.
"Dude! DUDE!" The voice said. It was another kid but inside the orb showed no such person. I peered closer into the orb but a sudden pressure sucked me inside. The world around me morphed like stirred soup. Darkness became light and became a dance of colors. But, the voice remained. I looked around but there's no one. Not even the boy I was looking at earlier. That's when it hit me. I possessed the kid and the voice is coming from the muffler.
"Dude! Are you alright? There was a weird person behind you." The voice said.
"Wha?" I said. My voice changed to that of a childish pitch.
"There's literally a man standing behind you a second ago. It's giving me the heebie jeebies."
"It's nothing. Continue what you're doing and I'm going drink water."
"But I can't play without you. We're playing duo royale remember?"
Whatever is 'duo royale' is, I don't care. The only important thing right now, is go to Henry and say that it was a success.
So I stood up from my spot. Discarded the annoying thing in my ear and left the building. Henry was outside under the sun. I waved to him and he knew who I was immediately.
"Holy fuck!" He blurted. "It's DaveX!"
"DaveX?" I said not knowing wo that is.
"He's a streamer I watch most of the time when I'm not with you. I never thought he lived in here."
"Wait. Is this guy famous?"
"Sort of. Let's go inside. I want to see his rig."
We went back inside the building and I lead him to the room with flashing lights. Henry peeked his head inside the door but he noticed something that made him pull out his head immediately.
"Someone's there?" He said.
"I was there a minute ago and there's no person inside."
"Not inside, inside. You see that square thing? The one with a bright light?" I peeked inside and is saw it. There was a moving picture of a boy. "That is called a monitor and it is connected to another one far away from here. It's like a telephone but instead of just sounds, it also sends videos."
I get it now. That's why the guy saw me earlier.
"I want you to pull thst black wire from the socket. It will turn that monitor off."
I nodded and went inside. Just above the floor was a wire connected to the wall. When I pulled it off, the lights from the monitor died down. I looked at the door and told Henry that it is okay to come in.
"Wow" Henry exclaimed as he looked at the room with wonder. "RGB walls and holy fuck! I haven't seen this rig before."
He went over the metallic device and let his hand roam it's carapace.
"You're rich, can't you buy stuff like these?"
"Buy. Mom only buys expensive things if it can bring her more money. That's why I learned how to pickpocket from her. Although, it's not enough to buy rigs like these babies." Henry sat down in the huge swiveling chair and readied his hands. "Can you plug that thing again?"
I plugged it and the monitor flashed with life once again. Henry did his magic while I was left to my own devices. While he was busy, I could do other things to spend the time.
