The door suddenly opened to Pat's room. Past instinctively hid the rock behind him as he turned to see his mother enter the room. Behind him, Caden considered grabbing the rock, but he decided against it as doing so could completely screw him if anything went wrong. Pat's mom sighed before looking him directly in the eyes.
"Patrick, I thought I told you to take the dogs out for their walk?" She said slightly annoyed.
Pat was confused for a second before quickly remembering what the genie had told him. Everyone who doesn't hear the wish will think it's completely normal. Essentially reality changes and now Pat had three dogs. He slid the rock in his pocket and gave his best apology smile to his mother.
"Sorry Mom! I'll do that right now." He promised.
His mother looked skeptical as she could tell he was hiding something but shrugged it off and went on her way. Pat smirked as he looked back at the tree dogs, two of which were eagerly wagging their tails after hearing the word walk. The bulldog and lab that used to be Ian and Ben ran over to the other side of the room to get their leashes, while Caden just sat their trying his best to look angry.
Pat laughed at his friend sitting like a "good boy" so he decided to turn him back. He leaned down and whispered "I wish Caden was himself again" and the changes began. The collar began to stretch as it morphed back into his t-shirt and jeans. He felt the hair all over his body retract as his body grew larger. His snout retracted as the changes finished and Caden was human again.
"Oh thank God." He sighed relieved. "What the hell man?!" He angrily asked Pat.
"Woah, woah, take it easy dude. I was just messing around." He responded.
"I don't care you turned me into a dog! A dog Pat!" He continued.
"Ok I'm sorry alright? Look how about I don't change you anymore without your say so alright?" Pat bargained.
Caden was still pretty pissed but he decided to just let it go. He was human again and it maybe wasn't the best idea to piss off the guy with the magic wishing rock. "Fine. But seriously, don't change me without asking ok?" Caden asked. "I promise." Pat replied. Of course, Pat had no intention of keeping that agreement. He just decided he wouldn't let Caden be aware of any changes to himself.
Both of them were interrupted as the bulldog and lab that had been their friends approached them with leashes in their mouths. Caden looked angrily at Pat who just laughed. "Look, we could change them back, but how funny would it be to take them on a walk and tell them about it later?"
Caden didn't want to agree as he had just been a dog, but he couldn't disagree that it was at least a little funny. Plus Caden guessed it was technically different since neither Ian nor Ben were aware they used to be human, so it wouldn't be nearly as cruel. "Fine, I'll help you walk them." Caden agreed. "But we gotta change them when we get back alright?"
Caden attached the leash to Ian the bulldog while Pat attached Ian's leash to the happy Lab Ben. The two guys and their dogs walked downstairs and out the front door as they began to walk down the street. At first, Caden was still a little annoyed, but as the walk went on he began to have some fun.
First Ian took a shit on some guys lawn and Caden couldn't help but chuckle as Pat had to clean it up as the old guy yelled at him. Then they went by a fire hydrant which both dogs pissed on. Both Pat and Caden laughed thinking about their friends doing the same thing. Then finally as they got close to the town park a jogger who was fairly pretty stopped by to pet the dogs.
"My aren't you a cutie?" The blond said as she scratched Ian's head.
"Wow Ian, aren't you quite the little ladies' man?" Pat joked as their former friend got pet.
Finally they got to the park and the two took a break on a nearby bench. They laughed about what had happened and began to take in the scenery and all the people.
"Ok, I admit, this is pretty fun. Not to mention the is gonna be hilarious later when we tell them." Caden laughed.
"See?" Pat said. "What did I tell you?"
Pat then pulled out the wishing rock and Caden got a bit nervous again. "Uh, Pat? What're you doing there?" He asked.
"Relax I'm just making another fun wish."
Pat leaned into the rock and whispered his wish while Caden sat nervous, knowing he wouldn't be aware of any changes.
