As Kyle strode through the hallway at school, he attracted numerous stares. Though they ranged from desire and envy to fear, there was one emotion he did not see: surprise. In fact, he bumped into the principal in the hallway, who congratulated him on his performance at the game last week.
Kyle was stunned. Everyone remembered him being like this! This was confirmed when he got to football practice. No longer was he hazed by the upperclassmen for being a freshman - because he wasn't anymore! He was a junior himself now, and some of the freshmen and sophomores and juniors who had mocked him when they were bigger now looked on him with awe. Some even came up to him asking for advice on how to be like him, advice he handed out without thinking but knowing it was correct.
Heck, Kyle was now bigger and stronger than most of the seniors, many of whom also looked on in awe and envy. He discovered that he was now a junior captain of the team, had much more skill than before, and still barely fit into his jersey, which was almost skintight.
When Kyle went home (shirtless, afraid to rip his T-shirt), he found more evidence of changes. As a freshman he had joined football to be popular and pack on some muscle. Now he discovered that in this timeline, he had been a football prodigy from a young age, since he was about 7. He had also competed in weightlifting and bodybuilding contests, and was now the most sought-after high schooler in the country, wooed by college football programs everywhere.
Lifestyle changes had occurred as well. His mom was prettier than before, and his formerly nerdy dad had been a jock in college. He had encouraged Kyle and his older brother Drew to be athletic. Drew, a thin genius in Kyle's original life, in this one was now also the previous hottest boy in school and played football and lacrosse at Harvard. Kyle's best friend Eric was now younger and hero worshipped him, joining football to impress Kyle.
Kyle was so overwhelmed by all this he decided to sleep. Maybe this was all a dream.
