Clay Emerson

Author note:
I'm sprucing up the introductory chapter

"How about that guy?" I looked over to see who Henry pointed at.

Him. Being stuck in this cemetery is punishment enough. Seeing him talk to an inanimate headstone day in day out doesn't help brighten up the place.

"I don't want to be some miserable brat." I said.

"Then who else are you going to possess considering that I'm out of the equation."

Fine. At least the crying guy is a bit taller and older than Henry.

I floated over the guy and slowly descended my ethereal form in his body. In an instant, I felt warmth surge throughout my body. Yet at the same time, I felt what he feel. A chilling cold is beginning to draw over all his body.

I descended into him and into the Abyss inside his body. The warmth that I felt before was gone. It was replaced with Somber cold and the silence within.

In the distance, I felt an energy draw me in. The more I moved closer, the stronger the pull. When I was at the point where the force is strongest, I woke up and gasp my first breath.

One thing I realized first is that I could feel again. Not just the temperature nor the speed I'm moving. But I could feel the real touch of grass, the real taste of my saliva and real smell of the soil. The scenery around me is more vivid than I thought it would be. I looked upwards and saw the real colors of the sky and the sun.

In the distance, I saw Henry run up to me. Wonder is evident in his eyes.

"Are you there?" He said.

"I'm here alright." I replied. I grabbed his hands and pulled him close. I touched his face and traced the warmth of his blood. I leaned in and snuffed the scalp of his hair. I forgot but I know that his hair smells like a fruit.

"How do you feel?" He said.

My new experience exceeds the words that can describe them. So I just smiled and let laughter flow out into the air.

"Do you remember anything?" He said.

Memories sped through my mind. Their speed is a blur to me. I opened my palms and grabbed the brightest one among them.

"My name is Clay Emerson" I said with uncertainty. I peered through my mind again but there was nothing to grab anymore. "That's it."

Henry grabbed his phone thingy and typed my name in. The phone portrayed a picture of a man that looks like my own.

"Your name is Clay Emerson. Aged 19 and a student of Pencider City University. Judging from his recent posts, the tombstone he's crying on belongs to his best friend who died from a car crash."

Suddenly, I feel a heavy feeling pull my chest downwards. Pressure built upon my eyes which let hot tears flow through my cheeks. Breathing was a chore and my throat is urging me to wail.

"You're crying." Henry said as he wiped off my tears.

"I can't stop it. I just feel this hard feeling inside me and it's making me miserable." I said.
He
"It seems that even though you're controlling him, his emotion remains."

Well, I don't want to feel this way if I'm going to stay in this body.

"Do you have any idea how to cheer this guy up?"

"Eating makes me happy. Reading does the same if it's a good book."

"Eating is nice but I don't want to read one of your books. Any other suggestions?"

Henry thought again but nothing came out. This means I'm going to choose for myself don't I?
