"All right everybody," said the teacher. "Now you need to decide where your groups are go......"
"Everyone look" of the students screamed pointing past the fence into the field.
A doe dashed across the fields in a frenzy quickly followed in toe by a disheveled wolf, filthy from the chase. It trotted along it's exhausted prey snarling, snapping at its neck and herding it further into the enclosure.
The group ran over, crowding the fence pointing, laughing, and even cheering on the wolf. Jen tiptoed behind, staring at her feet in the mud not wanting to risk activating the curse. She nestled behind someone taller than her getting a good look at their lower back. despite a few hands waving in her face people demanding she looked and even the occasional hair tug.
She gulped, taking a deep breath, part of her terrified that the curse was real and anther part furious that she could believe such a thing.
She closed her eyes and peered over the shoulder of the guy in front of her, mentally screaming at herself again and again to open them.
Finally, she had enough. She knew it would be impossible to live her life in fear forever. Today, tomorrow, she would have to look at an animal sooner or later. With a deep sigh, she cracked open her eyes.
The wolf stood directly in front of the fence, across from slumped over with exhaustion. Snarling, it leaped forward it's maw clamping down on the does neck forcing a little pitiful yelp from her. Her body limp in its jaw.
The crowd was speechless as the wolf turned tail and darted back into the forest with its prize. The cheers before snuffed out with the doe.
Jen lowered her hands, covering her open mouth not even realizing when she did it. Only once everyone started leaving and the teacher started ushering the students back, did she realize anything was wrong.
Her body was tingling centering in her loins. It was clear now the curse was real and was changing her.
