Picking herself up and dusting off her overalls, Eleanor turned to the farmers, attempting to put a smile on her face. "Well, I'm guessin' that ya'll are gunna need me to help 'round here, ain't ya?" Eleanor was still somewhat bothered by her accent, but she couldn't help talking that way, Ms. Santos must've out some kind of mental change on her.
"Why, I'm glad you're getting with the program quickly, girlie!" One of the farmers said, a big strong muscular guy that was currently herding up the cows. "Definitely makes it easier for us! Now, I'm thinking you should help out with the cows for a little while, don't you think? It's gonna take more than one of us to get them used to the routine!"
Thinking that this could still be fun, Eleanor nodded, her blonde hair bouncing up and down. "Why, I'd be happier than a pig in a mudbath on a summer afternoon! I'm guessin' they need some milkin'?"
The farmer nodded, grinning. He motioned for the other farmers to take their animals and go off to get them integrated, leaving him, Eleanor, and the cows. "Well call me Tom for starters, and first, let's take these cows to where we keep the others. Then, we can start with the other stuff."
"Allright, yeehaw!" Eleanor said, beginning to lead the cows to the barn, slapping one of her former classmates on the rear. She then took up a position in the rear, as Tom began to take the lead.
It didn't take long for the group to reach the barn, although some of the former kids (mainly the boys that were forcefully turned into girls) proved to be quite a handful. Thankfully, a few scolding remarks from Tom put them back in line.
Tom smiled to himself as Eleanor got the last of the cows settled into their stalls. "Eleanor, I'll be right back, okay? Watch the cows, and I'll go get the things we need for the first task of the day."
"Why, you don't need to worry 'bout a darn thing!" Eleanor reassured him, petting the head of a cow that used to be a girl named Angie. "Just get on with it, then hurry right back!"
Tom nodded, and with a tip of his hat, he walked out of the barn. Eleanor smiled to herself as the muscular farmer left, eager to see what he had in store.
