“Well I do like the idea of Karen,” Katie said. “She’s Pretty levelheaded so I think she could handle whatever we throw at her.”
Kellie nodded as she turned to Mary Elise, the auburn haired teen seemed to be struggling with her answer as she looked between Katie and Kellie. “Ugh I hate it admit it but Lisa is probably a good choice too.”
“Really,” Katie and Kellie exclaimed.
“Yes,” Mary Elise groaned. “I mean Inhate the idea of her getting magic like me but she would probably be really good. I mean if we want someone similar to Mika and Claudia from the other timeline she’s a good choice. I mean do you guys think Kumi would self moderate. She’d probably age herself up to go to college parties.”
“Lisa might do the same thing,” Kellie said flatly. “Okay true,” Mary Elise stated. “But you can actually talk Lisa down.”
Katie looked at Mary Elise, as well of emotions coming over her as she stared at her Twins biggest rival. “Wow Mary,” she whispered. “Thank you, It means a lot that you would be willing to trust her. Know you two don’t exactly have the best history.”
“Your right we don’t,” Mary sighed. “And to be honest she’s still not exactly my favorite person but, I think she would be a really good wizard.” Kellie could only smile at her friends as she now slowly stood up. “Well I guess it’s decided then,” she smiled. “Why don’t you two give them a call. I’ll go tell my dad, he’s expecting all of us.”
A half hour later Karen and Lisa now stood in Merlin’s study along with Kellie, Katie and Mary Elise. Both teens looked at their friends curiously, neither knew why they had been called here. “So what’s going on,” Lisa asked as she glanced around the room. Kellie now stepped forward, a small smile on her face. “Well here’s the thing,” she said. “We were all talking. As everyone knows Jack and Lilith are only getting stronger. So, we decided as a group that it was time we get stronger too.”
“Okay,” Karen said slowly. “So what does that have to do with me and Lisa?”
“What Kellie is trying to say,” Mary said. “Is that, we think you two should have magic, just like us.”
Karen and Lisa gaped first at their friends before loooking at Merlin. “Are you serious,” Lisa exclaimed. “You want us to have magic.” Lisa looked over at Mary Elise, still in shock at what she was hearing. “Mary, your actually okay with this?”
“Yeah Lisa,” Mary said quietly. “We decided as a group. It was unanimous. Me, Katie, Kellie, we all think that you two would be best to start with. We want to train you two first before we train the others.” Lisa nodded before slowly approaching Mary Elise, hugging the teen much to her surprise. “Thank you,” she whispered. Karen now joined the two red heads, squeezing them tightly before turning to face Merlin and Kellie. “This is going to be awesome,” she smiled. “I can’t believe we’re actually going to learn magic.”
“I am glad you are excited,” Merlin said with a smile. “But this shall not be an easy process. Your training will be intense. I need the two of you to become as proficient with magic as the others. Time is of the essence and you shall not have that luxury.”
“Understandable,” Karen said. “So are we getting rings like the others?”
“Actually,” Merlin said as he reached into his desk, bringing forth a small box. “Your items shall be much different.” Karen and Lisa now slowly approached as the ancient wizard opened the box revealing two pendants. Lisa and Karen now looked up at Merlin with a curious look etched on their faces.
“These pendants are very similar to the ones Katie and the others have in the other timeline,” Merlin said. “These pendants will allow you to access different types of magic, very similar to what you have seen the other Claudia and Mika do. They will also allow you to access some of the spells that Katie, Kellie, And Mary Elise have, however they are not as proficient as the rings.”
“So our magic won’t be as strong as theirs, Karen asked, slightly disappointed. “Not exactly,”Merlin smirked. “You see the pendants are more of a Jack of all trades where the rings are specific. Think of it in terms of being a doctor. The pendants are like emergency room doctors, they are good at pretty much everything. The rings though are like specialists. They can perform other magic but are specifically designed to perform certain spells. When it comes to transformations or temporal Magic’s, the rings are second to none.”
Lisa and Karen nodded as they gazed at the pendents, a smile growing on their faces. “This is going to be fun,” Karen grinned, as she picked up a pendent with a purple gem. “Know the feeling Karen,” Lisa said happily as she attached her pendent around her neck, causing the orange gem to begin to glow. “So when do we get started.”
“Kellie,” Merlin said. “I leave the lessons to you. I will check back on you shortly but first, I have a meeting I need to attend too.”
Lisa and Karen now looked towards the others. A look apof determination and excitement on their faces. Both teens seemed anxious to begin lessons, Kellie could only hope now that they had made the right decision.
