Debra sat in stunned silence as she studied the remote in her hand. Sure, she'd heard of powers like this in movies like Freaky Friday or Big, but to suddenly be holding it in her hand? She considered throwing it away, or bringing it to the police, or... something. It was hard to wrap her mind around this sort of power. But then she saw her daughter.
Now that the girl working on her was back to her old age and ethnicity, Cindy was back to mindlessly texting on her phone. Debra had such fond memories of this place from when Cindy was younger, and while Debra knew her little girl had to grow up, she hated that she had turned into such a self-absorbed princess. If only she had a chance to spend some more time with her daughter, knowing what she knew now, she'd probably be a completely different young woman.
Just then, one of the worker's daughters came running out of the back room. She must've been 10 or 11, cute and energetic, with a wide grin revealing a mouth full of missing teeth. She had come out to proudly show her mother a drawing she had made, filling Debra with a warm fuzzy feeling. Then she remembered the remote.
Her heart racing, Debra began fiddling with the device. She saw a setting that allowed her to affect only age, which was good since she didn't necessarily want her daughter becoming Chinese as well. She also saw a knob allowing her to specify an amount to blend. 50%, that was perfect she decided. As the little girl ran back to color some more, Debra aimed the remote and fired.
"Oh my god mom, my toes are so totally cute!" Cindy beamed.
Looking over, Debra was elated to find her daughter looking much as she had 5 years ago. Her blonde hair was worn long and straight, no hair products or styling applied. Her face looked rounder and softer, still plump with youth. Her smile was free and innocent, not sarcastic and weighed down by social pressures. Her body had only the faintest curves, and was clad in a cheap sunflower t-shirt and denim skirt. Debra couldn't have been happier. Of course, she planned to restore her daughter's age eventually, but she decided to have some fun first...
