As soon as Karen hung up the phone, she rushed to the bathroom to check on a few things. She closed the door and then looked in the mirror. So far, her face looked normal, and her teeth were still relatively flat. She took a breath, turned around, and lifted her shirt up a bit. Her eyes widened as she saw the small tuft of black fur on her lower back. She took a hand through the fur and confirmed that it was real.
"Oh my god..." she said to herself. "Is it happening already?" When she said that, another wave of a hot flash hit her, and she almost buckled. When the wave passed, she saw that small tuft of fur grew a little, with orange fur being mixed in with the black fur. Thoughts went through her mind. How did this happen? How long did she have? Could the changes hold off long enough for her change to seem plausible to her parents? She sat on the toilet as these questions went through her mind.

Vito woke up from his midday nap. He saw that Marcus was up and going as he was getting ready for tonight's activities. Vito got up from the bed and looked at the map of Moon Lake. On it was several circles, indicating the police station, high school, and the Charleston home. Vito studied the map to consider several options. The one thing that Vito didn't like was that the Charleston home was in an area of a police station. Complicating matters was that the Charleston home was on a dead end street. If the police were called, having to go past the police station would complicate matters, and they could easily be trapped if they tried to escape. But Vito spotted a different way.
"So, what's the plan?" Marcus asked as he noticed Vito was up and studying the map. "Are we just going to go up to the home and get Karen?"
"No," Vito answered, "It's too risky, and it'll be too easy for us to get caught." He pointed to the map and said, "I think I've got a different plan." Vito pointed at several points of the map. "What I think is that we park the car here, a bit out of the way. We walk through here, get to the house in this direction. We should be able to slip in without anyone noticing. You get Karen, knock her out, and I'll give Moe and Nichole a taste of lead. We'll walk back to the car and drive immediately to Seattle."
Unfortunately for the FBI listening through the bugs, they didn't have cameras, and with Vito's rather vague descriptions, they didn't have the details as to how Vito was planning the assault.
Vito turned to Marcus and said, "We gotta handle this delicately. We gotta be quiet, and make sure no one knows what happened to the Charlestons until we're well outside of Moon Lake, and hopefully, outside of this country."
"When are we going to do this?" Marcus asked.
"Tonight," Vito replied, "when we've got the cover of darkness. If we use that to our advantage as well as the copious amount of trees surrounding the place, we should be able to get in, do our business, and get out without anyone knowing."
"What do we do in the meantime?"
"We get ready. You got the gas on you?" Vito asked. Marcus nodded his head. "Good. The Charlestons won't know what hit them."
